Email Specialist
The Role
We are looking for a qualified self-starter to join our rapidly growing eCommerce team as an Email Specialist. This individual will focus on building and testing emails in our ESP and working closely with our technical partners to ensure all email tracking parameters are constructed properly. They will also work closely with our in-house creative team to execute a marketing calendar built by the Email Marketing Manager. You will identify opportunities to optimize both the email look and feel (performance), as well as the email construction operations which span multiple departments. The position will initially report to the Director of CRM and Rewards and will work closely with the Marketing, Design, Content, Product, Engineering and BI teams.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for day-to-day construction and execution of all email and text message marketing campaigns, including building emails and text messages from templates, creating new email templates, copywriting updates, asset coordination, QA, and scheduling across GTIs 15 markets
- Create and implement a testing plan to ensure subject lines, content, layout and send times of all emails are optimized based on data and results and advise on improvements
- Support various strategic programs via manual and triggered campaigns across the customer lifecycle including promotional, win-back, post-purchase, loyalty, retention, surveys, Welcome transactional emails, and more.
- Build effective target audiences and segments for every message to drive engagement and revenue performance against KPI goals.
- Work closely with the Email Marketing Manager to execute the email content calendar to drive engagement and revenue performance against KPIs
- Manage and optimize the current email intake and email creation process
- Act as liaison between the CRM team and the market/brand stakeholders
- Work closely with the in-house creative teams to coordinate hand-off of materials and communicate consolidated feedback from cross-functional partners or stakeholders
- Proactively resolve problems and roadblocks to keep campaigns on schedule and escalate higher level conflicts for resolution
- Own and maintain the asset library and folder structure, as well as organization of the email service provider segments, campaigns, etc (this includes defining and maintaining a naming convention for segments, campaigns, etc)
- Mitigate email frequency between marketing campaigns, triggered emails, promotional emails, store updates and transactional emails to retain audience interest/engagement and minimize database churn.
- Provide regular performance reports that include but are not limited to open, clicks, bounce, and unsubscribes.
- Write and act as editor/second reader on various editorial projects.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of Email Marketing experience (retail category experience preferred but not required)
- Must have hands-on email service provider experience, and able to build email marketing campaigns and workflows within HubSpot, Email Studio, or equivalent
- Basic understanding of audience segmentation
- Knowledge of Canva, HTML & SQL is also a plus, but not required
- Understanding of privacy laws including CAN-SPAM, GDPR, TCPA and other email/SMS compliance regulations a plus
- Passion for data and focus on business KPIs, to effectively prioritize projects based on potential business impact
- Strong interpersonal skills, as this role is highly collaborative in nature across the organization including copywriters, designers, analysts, and developers
- Strong organizational skills to support juggling multiple projects in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
