Facilities Associate

As a member of the Facilities team at PEAK6, you’ll have a big impact on the firm and our employees/guest experience by helping to manage the day to day upkeep of our office space with a positive attitude and resourceful, ego-free team.
We pride ourselves on our relentless attention to detail and place an immense value on day-to-day management of our space and resources. There is no storage closet too far and no drawer too deep to escape regular cleaning and organization!
Our team is scrappy, dedicated and works hard to main high standards, while maintaining our ability to stay cool under pressure and roll with the punches.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Managing our kitchen program – stock all food and drinks including breakfast items, heavy snacks, fresh fruit, candy, soda, juice, water, etc.
- Replenishing supply multiple times throughout the day, making sure presentation is neat and organized
- Monitoring inventory daily and prepare orders accordingly
- Assisting with frequent rotation of snacks and drinks to keep our offerings fresh and exciting
- Managing our coffee program – stock all coffee bar items multiple times throughout the day
- Monitoring inventory including multiple varieties of coffee, tea, creamer, and sweetener
- Managing pantry program – restock and maintain inventory of all paper / plastic / cleaning products in kitchen, coffee bar, and supply areas
- Ensuring equipment such as coffee machines, water dispensers, ice makers, refrigerators, microwaves, toasters, toaster ovens, kitchen tools, utensils, copiers, and A/V equipment are clean and maintained in good working order
- Supplementing nightly janitorial service with periodic clean ups throughout the day in high traffic areas – wipe counters, clean up spills, dispose of trash or items left behind after meetings or lunches
- Beginning / end of day tasks – turn on all lights, empty / load / run dishwasher, etc.
- Monitoring the condition of conference rooms during the day
- Ensuring they are neat and clean – furniture in proper place, chairs pushed in, cords neatly concealed, marker boards wiped clean, drawers organized, free of trash and clutter
- Confirming they are properly stocked with office supplies, dry erase markers + erasers, cleaning cloth + spray, Clorox wipes, Kleenex, and hand sanitizer
- Mail service – distribute mail internally, notify employees upon receipt of packages, keep package area clean and organized
- Running daily errands for owners’ assistants as needed, including picking up meals and other personal tasks
- Assisting with interoffice employee and furniture moves as needed
- Providing backup coverage for reception as needed
- Managing special event setups, catering, equipment requests, or room layouts as needed
- Developing working knowledge of A/V equipment to enable provision of ad hoc support during meetings as needed
- Receiving and direct onsite vendors as needed – building engineers, plumbers, carpenters, document destruction, general deliveries
- Assisting with tracking of facilities maintenance issues including lights out, repairs to premises, malfunctioning doors/locks, temperature inconsistencies, etc. Note all issues to Facilities Manager.
You’ll gain loads of experience in this role but before you do, you should have:
- A college degree - preferred but not required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
- The ability to be on your feet for the majority of the day
- The ability to lift and maneuver up to 50 pounds
- Strong attention to detail, love organization, and have great follow-through skills.
- A positive attitude at all times, even under stressful conditions.
- Great communication skills and you are comfortable interacting with the entire organization on a daily basis.
- The flexibility to adjust processes and resources to meet changing requirements.
- The ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and work well with limited supervision.
- The ability to effectively prioritize tasks and budget time accordingly and you tend to thrive under pressure.
- Thick skin, are very resilient, and know when not to take things personally.
