Job Summary:
Energy & Transportation, E&T, Group CIO Manager is responsible for partnering with business leaders to identify technology capabilities established in business-driven IT Roadmaps that enable business strategies, design and deploy new solutions that help enable key business activities, and deliver high quality and reliable IT solutions. The Manager is responsible for exceeding client expectations through superior implementation, delivery and management of technology products and solutions. This role is also responsible for overall segment cybersecurity compliance and governance as well as any regulatory requirements. The E&T Group CIO is also the liaison between the segment and the central Global Information Services Division.

Responsibilities Typically Include:
- Managing a worldwide team responsible for designing, developing, and deploying business and technical solutions to achieve business strategies and mitigate risks
- Understands business strategies & translate business solution requirements into capabilities.
- Develops and maintains long-term strategic IT roadmaps along with the business that delivers IT capabilities support business strategies.
- Promotes common enterprise solutions that positively impact Enterprise profitability.
- Manages dependencies and priorities within and across business segments.
- Ensure the existing BU IT landscape is performing at defined benchmarks (Quality, Velocity, and Cost).
- Develops business cases to secure approval for implementation of new systems and technologies.
- Acts as a change agent for programs of ownership and responsibilities include creating, developing, maintaining, and tracking integrated initiatives for effective operations.
- Responsible for governance development, management, and deployment for training, communications, program channel delivery, and assessment for continual process improvement.
- Maintains integrity of programs and systems within areas of ownership.
- Maintains compliance to internal policies and procedures, including those relating to sustainability, cybersecurity, SOX, and IT General Controls.
- Builds and maintains excellent relationships and is responsible for exceeding business partner expectations through implementation and delivery of IT technology products and solutions.
- Has thorough understanding of IT products, components and features within their assigned plant/product/service organization and is liaison between the business partners and development team to guide future enhancement requests and project initiatives
- Serves as primary point of contact for all Corporate Global Information Services (GIS) services within a plant/product/service organization and works with GIS to coordinate with various departments. This includes executing various technical upgrades (OS, database, middleware, etc.) in coordination with the GIS service provider.
- Responsible for identifying new disruptive IT solutions that provide business value at Caterpillar
- Responsible for system and technical integration of any segment Mergers & Acquisitions
Provides corporate wide focus for efforts relating to compliance with government laws and regulations and with enterprise policies on business ethics and conduct. - Employee may also be responsible for performing other job duties occasionally as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
- Requires a relevant degree
- 15+ years of progressively complex IS experience, generally gained through staff and supervisory assignments in Information Services and related areas.
- Understanding of business operations including technical infrastructure, parts warehousing and distribution, eCommerce, digital solutions, dealer processes, manufacturing and engineering functional applications.

The preferred locations for this role are Dallas, TX, East Peoria, IL, and Deerfield, IL. Relocation assistance may be provided to those that are eligible.
