ThinkMarkets is seeking a Head of IT Engineering to lead our IT infrastructure and operations globally. This person will report directly to the CTO and will partner closely with him and the CEO to strategically design and architect superb high-frequency low-latency trading applications, all while leading and developing an exceptional engineering team. The right candidate will enjoy working in a fast-paced and dynamic trading environment with the latest technology to help us continue to provide best-in-class web and mobile applications for our customers around the world.

Core Responsibilities

• Lead the development of solution architecture for a variety of strategic projects, partnering with Application Development, Infrastructure and Security teams to deliver a cohesive, forward-thinking and adaptable architecture
• Manage a Global team of Network, Systems and Database Engineers from around the world providing 24/7 coverage to our global client base
• Own all Servers, Data Centers, Trading Platforms, Databases and Networks (Cloud/OnPremise)
• Interface across business and technology areas to communicate goals, guidelines, directions, road maps, patterns and blueprint
• Serve on the Senior Management Committee providing board reports, road maps and engineering solutions to support business growth

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in Engineering and Application Development in the financial services trading industry
• 7+ years hands on experience with Systems, Network, and Storage Administration
• Masters or higher in Computer Science /Engineering or relevant field
• Advanced Knowledge of Virtualization, Hyperconverged infrastructure, and Global Data Center management
• Experience with development languages and technology for trading platforms: Java, C++, and RESTful APIS
• Experience with Database tuning, design and administration in SQL MySQL, Cassandra, and Influx DB
• Experience with Linux, Windows and virtualization technologies (i.e. VMWare)
• Knowledge of Trading Platforms, Latency Optimizations, FIX Protocol and Trading Technologies
