Job Purpose:
As an Information Technology Manager within Caterpillar's Resource Industries CIO group, you hold a critical role in enabling the design and manufacturing of Caterpillar products. This role has the responsibility of providing secure and reliable IT services and solutions to the Tracked Product Group, the East Peoria, IL and Denison, TX manufacturing sites and the Aurora Engineering Design Center.
Description:
The role is responsible for providing operational support to keep factories and offices operating efficiently and securely. Additionally, the role provides strategic direction on IT systems to enable long-term business goals. The selected candidate will lead a team of 8-12 direct reports comprised of Caterpillar full-time and agency staff.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Primary IT Leader contact for all IT services to internal business partners including escalation point for Priority 1 and 2 service tickets.
- Partner with Global Information Services (GIS) division and other IT organizations to ensure smooth transitions on key systems changes such as ensuring our IT systems are secure, compliant and at supportable levels.
- Lead a team with responsibility for delivering business outcomes both directly in support of local systems and solutions or indirectly by understanding requirements and engaging an internal or external service provider.
- Provides IT leadership to the entire RIOP business unit to enable their Business Intelligence and data warehouse needs using MS Power BI and Snowflake technologies.
- Build relationships with business partners to fully understand their direction and IT needs, including an understanding of their OPACC Improvement Agenda (OIA), present challenges, and key strategic decisions.
- Act as a change agent with accountability to communicate changes, new technologies or Corporate IT driven initiatives to business partners, working alongside the business' communications team.
- Manage direct and indirect IT spend to annual business plan targets established with business partners. Total budget of $1M+ a year.
- Primary provider of communications to staff, manage technical training and development of staff, assists in career development planning, including responsibility for the motivation of staff to meet objectives, formal performance evaluation of staff and is accountable for the accomplishment of group objectives.
- Provide leadership in the selection, onboarding and offboarding of agency and SOW resources as needed for key roles and projects.

Basic Requirements:
- • Requires a relevant degree and/or 10 years of progressively complex IT experiences.
- • Requires previous technical and managerial experience in applications software and development methodologies.
- • Experience leading software development teams to design, develop and support custom software solutions.
- • Previous business planning and project management experience.
- • Experience leading a team to resolve business-critical incidents to meet Service Level Agreement (SLA) with internal customers.
- • Must have strong communications skills to communicate critical information to a diverse stakeholder group.
Top Candidate Will Also Have:
- 5+ years in a leadership role
- Experience deploying and/or supporting SAP ERP Software
- Experience leading a Business intelligence or data warehouse team
- Experience implementing Internet of Things (IOT) solution for manufacturing
- Experience improving processes through robotic process automation
- Knowledge of Amazon or Microsoft cloud platforms
- Long-Term planning and systems roadmap development
- Adaptability and quick learning
