Ready to thrive in the next step on your career journey?

West Monroe is seeking an IT Incident Architect (Infrastructure Recovery) to join our Incident Response & Recovery (IR&R) offering. Our IR&R teams are dedicated to helping clients respond to/recover from ransomware events or similar security/data breaches that are often causing a complete business outage.

We are looking for a technical consultant with experience designing, engineering, and deploying core IT infrastructure technologies – systems, servers, cloud services, application platforms, end-user, etc. – on short timelines. The ideal candidate is an IT architect who can rapidly come up to speed in dynamic, enterprise environments and understand critical client needs. The architect will lead the implementation or recovery of infrastructure technologies that will enable our clients to resume business operations during/after cyberattacks.

Responsibilities:

  • Rapidly deploy to client site(s) during or in the aftermath of a major cybersecurity incident, I.e. ransomware
  • Assess current state of the breached client environment to quickly understand key impacted business systems and processes, and effectively gather business and technical requirements for the solutions
  • Collaborate cross-functionally within a pod of IR&R teammates, including consultants from both Cybersecurity and Cloud & Infrastructure practice areas
  • Evaluate, recommend, and implement new technologies and processes, or recover existing systems, to allow our clients to resume enterprise-wide operations
  • Architect, engineer, deploy, and/or recover critical infrastructure technologies for on-prem and cloud environments
  • Act as technical lead and client POC for all infrastructure recovery efforts related to the breach
  • Drive new business with existing clients by identifying unique opportunities and communicating them to the appropriate client leads, account managers, and/or business developers

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field preferred, or equivalent experience required
  • Consulting firm/industry experience preferred
  • 6-10+ years of experience in an IT infrastructure engineering/architecture role in areas such as systems, servers, cloud services, virtualization, networking, storage, hosting, or tools/application platforms
  • Hands-on implementation experience with multiple of the following: Windows OS/Server, Active Directory/Azure AD, MS Exchange, Office/Microsoft 365, PowerShell, Azure Services, Amazon Web Services, virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V), deployment tools (SCCM, MDT), routers/switches and firewalls (Cisco, Juniper)
  • Strong sense of urgency with comfortability delivering solutions in fast-paced, dynamic environments
  • Excellent critical thinking, communication, and project management skills
  • Ability to learn new cloud and infrastructure technologies to enable delivery of cutting-edge solutions
  • Bonus – familiarity with incident response procedures (I.e. triaging, forensics) or experience having supported a corporate IT environment through a ransomware event or data breach
  • Comfortable working flexible hours, including occasionally weekends and overnights, in exchange for schedule flexibility when not actively responding to a client cybersecurity incident
  • Willingness to travel for out of town client engagements – COVID-19 permitting
