Department Overview
Service Design Tools and Infrastructure (SDTI) is part of Central Managed and Support Operations (CMSO) for Motorola Solutions. Our mission is to provide IT services from Service Design to Operational Support for global call centers, Network Operation Center (NOC), Security Operation Center (SOC), and Hosted services.
Job Description
This position is that of a full time network architect, providing architecture designs for core network devices including firewalls, routers, switches, load balancers, and intrusion prevention. Architect will be designing services and network architectures that provide managed services to critical public safety systems for local, state, and Federal government.
Practical experience with ITIL Service Design or TOGAF Enterprise Architecture Framework is a plus
Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience
CCNP or JNCIP Certification in one or more domains is preferred
ITIL Foundation Certification preferred
5+ years of focused networking experience in an enterprise environment
Experience working in corporate network environments with WAN technologies such as Firewalls, Routers, Switches, Proxy, VPN SSL, VLAN and MPLS Networks
Experience troubleshooting complex LAN/WAN & application performance problems to resolution in multitasking environment. Layer 1 through Layer 7
Strong knowledge of BGP, OSPF, and VRRP protocols
Strong knowledge of Brocade, Palo Alto, Juniper, and Cisco networking equipment.
Experience in network security design, planning, and implementing scalable, highly available, mission critical network infrastructures.
Highly organized, structured, and process oriented; team building skills a plus
Ability to work independently as well as with a team
Strong interpersonal skills with a desire to collaborate with internal and external business/technical teams.
Knowledge of network security best practices with hands on experience. (DoD 8500 preferred)
Fluent English language written and spoken
