About the Role
We are looking for an experienced IT Manager to build out a scalable internal IT program as we grow rapidly. At Civis, IT manages and issues hardware and software to employees, oversee office networking infrastructure in both of our Chicago and DC offices, enforces our data security policy, and stays informed of new IT system-related security threats, manages IT asset management, and other day-to-day IT-related issues. The IT Manager will be responsible for managing internal IT support to all Civis employees and ensuring that their technology, and our office technology infrastructure functions efficiently and effectively. This position will be a part of our Chicago-based technology team. This is a hands-on management role in which you will tackle some tasks directly, while balancing team workload, engagement with other departments, and routine managerial duties. This role will report to the VP of Engineering.

Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in IT
- Expertise in Jamf Pro/Casper suite
- Experience with desktop virtualization (e.g. Virtualbox, VMWare, Parallels)
- Ability to troubleshoot and understand multi-network DHCP setup, firewalls, VLAN enabled switching equipment, and access points
- Ability to administrate iOS and Android
- Software packaging experience
- Proven expertise in selecting, configuring and managing cloud services
- Expertise in building a robust support ticketing system
- Experience with managing a 2-4 person team of IT Specialists
- A positive, service-oriented attitude
- Experience managing vendor relationships
- Determination to make people happier by improving their tools, no matter their job role
- Experience providing employees with both on-site and remote support to solve hardware and software problems
- Ability to train and support employees, and communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical employees
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with building out a scalable internal IT operation
- Unix/Mac OS shell proficiency
- Some programming experience
- VPN administration
- Experience supporting technical users
