Job Description
Work as a member of the vendor management team to establish, maintain and evaluate vendor relationships to reduce risks, align with stakeholders, drive innovation and help deliver competitive advantages to the company. Support the sourcing strategy, vendor relationships, negotiations and performance management for defined IT suppliers. This role will focus on our software and SaaS vendors and provide software asset management (SAM) support to the IT department as well as MSI overall.
Scope of Responsibilities / Expectations:
Build and maintain relationships with external software vendors
Drives strategic sourcing process of vendors and supports the development and implementation of sourcing strategies through research and analysis.
Collaborates with Procurement, Technical and Business teams for renewals and changes to existing agreements
Manages vendor and internal software audits
Coordinates activities between Finance, and Vendors to ensure all invoices are raised and paid in accordance with vendor agreements.
Ensures appropriate stakeholders are informed of contract additions / terminations to enable accurate budget forecasting
Analyze new and existing software terms and conditions to ensure the proper installation and use of a wide variety of software products
Provide clear and concise guidance on acceptable licensing practices
Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of standard global procedures, tools, and practice in support of proper software asset management activities
Desired Background/Knowledge/Skills:
Experience with software asset management
Experience managing Business Requirements, Project Plans, Project Schedules and associated project materials.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, ability to clearly and concisely communicate information at multiple levels, adapting easily to change.
Ability to assess the impact of new process or project requirements on existing complex processes.
Dynamic ability to resolve complex issues in an environment of rapid change positively and professionally.
Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to balance and effectively prioritize a large set of diverse vendors simultaneously.
Knowledge of software vendor licensing rules and terms including Microsoft, Adobe, IBM, and Oracle is a plus
Basic Requirements
Bachelor's degree plus 2+ years of experience or 3+ years of related experience
Industry Certification is a plus: ITIL, CSAM
