Job Description

We are seeking a Systems Engineer who can support the critical software used by our Hardware Engineering group in designing the circuitry in our products. We want someone who is a lifetime student, passionate about the use of technology to achieve business goals and can co-create the vision with business partners. S/he must be self-motivated, thrives on working across multiple teams, and can use technology to solve complex business problems.

Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations

Ability to independently lead the technology solutions leveraging rapid prototyping, Agile DevOps methods to deliver leading edge, best in class solutions. Responsibilities include: 

  • Have the mindset of a Product Owner to manage systems specific to the Printed Circuit Board (PCB) or other ECAD/MCAD functions of the hardware design process

  • Track and plan our Hardware tool roadmap and partner with Hardware Engineering teams to manage cost of the tools, quality of the output, and cycle-time of design

  • Build and manage the infrastructure or platform on which the tools run in order to best leverage cloud technologies, create automation, and ensure security

  • Provide platinum-level support for software applications, tool customizations, Windows/Unix/Linux support, development, and testing of tools and workflows

  • Execute projects and enhancements in conjunction with our Engineering teams

  • Generate and Maintain strong business relationships, prioritize projects, and lead small cross-functional teams

  • Solve complex problems, learn new systems, and analyze processes or technologies to streamline engineering operations and/or reduce time to market

  • Translate engineering business needs into functional requirements, including to propose and evaluate risks and benefits of solutions

Knowledge/Skills Required

  • 3+ years of systems management experience with the majority in a role supporting PCB applications such as Cadence Sigrity, Mentor Valor, or Dassault Systems

  • Experience in at least one of the programming languages: Python, PERL, Tcl, Java.

  • Experience developing in and migrating to cloud environments (AWS, Azure)

  • Profound ability to find root cause of problems, and ability to rapidly resolve problems

  • Excellent soft skills: Good written and verbal communication, analytical mindset, a knack for problem-solving, and a desire to learn

  • Self-Starter & Visionary with an entrepreneurial spirit; we want and love new ideas to improve our business with that latest technology

  • Must be able to lead teams through ambiguity and create a future

  • Self-motivated and ability to work independently

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding, and rapidly changing environment

  • Out-of-the-box thinking, creative use of technology, proven ability to manage the capability roadmap and deliver small to medium projects


Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Business

  • 3+ years of experience in a systems support and business facing role 

  • Technical experience specific to PCB (Printed Circuit Board)
