About the role

Angi’s Operations team is seeking a construction industry professional to join one of the most recognizable home services brands in North America. This position is a unique opportunity for a construction professional looking to join the tech sector.  The role is part of Angi’s exciting expansion into managing projects for consumers.  

Responsibilities

  • Assist the company in obtaining contracting licenses in multiple jurisdictions, and ensuring the company’s compliance with licensing requirements;
  • Assist in managing residential construction projects for Handy’s customers, including ensuring that all work by subcontractors meets compliance and safety standards;
  • Take responsibility or support in developing a scalable process for tracking subcontractors’ qualifications, insurance, and licensure.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a responsible managing individual or qualifying individual for purposes of a company’s general contractor license preferred 
  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience in construction and/or the trades
  • 4+ years’ experience managing construction projects as a journeyman, foreman, or owner-builder
  • Working knowledge of construction industry practices and compliance requirements
  • Must be able to communicate to cross-functional management in concise, easily understood terms
  • Ability to handle confidential data with appropriate discretion
  • Excellent written, verbal and social communication skills
  • Top notch organizational skills
  • Proven ability to meet reporting deadlines with quality, speed and accuracy
  • Strong work ethic and sense of accountability and integrity
  • Solid customer service focus and ability to work both independently and collaboratively with diverse teams across the organization
  • Self-starter, with a demonstrated ability to identify issues, resolve problems and drive projects to completion
  • Trustworthy, positive, energetic, optimistic attitude with a willingness to roll up your sleeves
  • A creative problem solver who is eager to learn about new ideas and concepts
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace (Gmail, Google Docs, and Google Sheets) is a plus

Qualifiers, Licenses & Certifications Preferred

  • State qualifiers, active license holders and current certifications are a big plus:
    • A contractors license (general, building, dwelling or residential) in one of the following states (or multiple states): Oregon, Michigan, South Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Arizona, Nevada, Utah, New Mexico, Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas, Louisiana, Tennessee, North Carolina, Georgia, Wisconsin and Minnesota
    • Supervisor Certification in Denver, Colorado. 
    • EPA RRP Certification in Oregon, Massachusetts, Georgia or Alabama
    • Active RMP license, Texas 
    • OSHA 10 or 30 Certified 
    • Passed the NASCLA Accredited Exam 
    • Passed the ICC Building Contractor (B) or Residential Building Contractor (C) Exam
    • LEED AP Certification
