What is a Licensing Manager?
As the Licensing Manager, you will have experience with state licensing laws pertaining to the licensing and appointment of agents, producers, and adjusters. This position will also oversee agency business licenses. The Licensing Manager will lead the state licensing team in the Compliance Department.
What you will do as the Licensing Manager:
- Support Clearcover’s licensing strategy by leading the licensing team and directly managing Licensing Administrators and their work product & processes.
- Oversee all licensing functions including initial, renewal, and termination of independent agents, producers, aggregators and national accounts, as well as internal licensing management of Clearcover employees, including claims, customer service, & underwriting representatives.
- Develop and manage metrics around the workflow/production of the Licensing Team for: 1. Internal Employee Licensing and Renewals; 2. External Independent Agent/Producer’s Appointments & Terminations; and 3. National Account Appointments & Terminations.
- Attend and be prepared to present materials at regular meetings with Growth Team related to Updates and Future Strategy in the Independent Producer/ National Partner space.
- Identify licensing compliance risks.
- Conduct licensing related research projects.
- Respond and coordinate with licensing-based inquiries, exams and audits from various State’s Department of Insurance.
- Act professionally and with integrity, both verbally and in written communication with internal and external professional contacts.
- Maintain privacy, confidentiality, and adhere to Clearcover Code of Ethics.
- Continuously improve licensing manuals, forms and processes to keep current with State requirements.
- Develop a licensing budget & ensure budget meets goals and requirements.
What you will have:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Ample amount of licensing experience.
- Prior experience leading a licensing team.
- Strong analytical, research, and organization skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with insurance compliance online research websites (Westlaw), state department of insurance sites, and NIPR
- Strong knowledge of licensing and appointment regulations in all fifty U.S. states & D.C.
- Excellent ability to exercise independent judgment and the ability to work with minimal direction
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work under deadlines
- Strong understanding of relation between insurer, agent, insured, insurance laws/regulations, licensing requirements, and structure of insurance companies.
