Mainframe Mentor
The MF GTS Mentoring Program is developed for assisting associates in their work assignment, improvement, observations and assisting with the training & development needs. The mentor’s role is to support their mentees by: - Technical advice/expert support to resolve issues and to develop coping strategies for the perm. fix. - A mentor provides support, knowledge, encouragement, guidance, and constructive feedback to the mentee by developing a genuine interest in the growth of their abilities and talents. - Acknowledging their strengths, talents and encouraging them to find ways to use them. - Be an active listener and offer support and encouragement when appropriate
- Regular scheduled meetings with mentees to assist with mentees work assessments
- Assist mentee to identify individual needs and support career development
- Assisting the mentee to identify and solve problems
- Providing appropriate and timely advice
- Sharing professional experiences providing a different view of the matter under discussion
- Contribute to weekly status report to leadership in technical tower
- Maintain confidentiality of mentees
