EPAM is looking to add an experienced Benefits Manager to help drive and support various projects and initiatives across the organization. Reporting to the US Director Of People Operations, this is a key position that will manage group insurance benefits (health, dental, prescription, vision, life, AD&D, disability, and flexible spending accounts), leaves of absence, wellness, and retirement programs. This position will provide leadership and management oversight to a team of two while being hands-on in all facets of the above. The job incumbent must also ensure that customer service is the highest priority.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Actively participate in design of benefits plans and strategy. Responsible for administration and documentation of the same while driving process efficiencies
  • Maintain a thorough working knowledge of the content and administration of qualified and non-qualified plans and provide internal audits to ensure compliance with IRS and DOL regulations
  • Monitor performance claims and utilization of vendors and plan costs
  • Consult with benefits broker firm, vendor representatives and attorneys regarding administration of plans according to the plan documents and appropriate IRS/DOL regulations. Interprets benefits policies and procedures
  • Manage leave of absence programs in multiple states, liaising with our vendor and individual states as needed to ensure a positive employee experience
  • Resolve escalations related to benefits and leaves of absence, coordinating with appropriate parties, both external and internal
  • Govern the ADA request and resolution process
  • Responsible for the administration of retirement plans. Ensures that the data is appropriately maintained for accuracy and compliance. Responsible for the timely submission of funds. Ensures appropriate reporting and disclosure requirements under ERISA are followed
  • Oversees payroll reconcilement to ensure funds are remitted in accurate and timely manner
  • Organizes and reviews audit information for all Retirement plans. Coordinates audit schedule and preparation. Assists in the completion of annual retirement audits
  • Responsible for the compliance of Form 5500 and PBGC filings where required
  • Ability to run companywide Wellness programs and initiatives as well as facilitate and manage Open Enrollment
  • Develop and deliver communication strategy for all company initiatives pertaining to wellness, leaves of absence, benefits, and retirement
  • Interacts with co-workers, vendors, and other staff consistent with EPAM core values


REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree; 5+ years of benefits, compliance, and retirement (or related) experience in a fast-paced, innovative environment. Prior experience with multi-state US operations preferred
  • Expert knowledge of benefit best practices
  • Ability to manage competing demands, prioritize, work with a sense of urgency, meet deadlines, exceed expectations, and deliver on commitments
  • Proven successful interaction with cross-functional business partners and high level of understanding of business operations and internal control concepts
  • Demonstrated experience in leading through influence vs. direct management as well as leveraging extended teams (Centers of Expertise)
  • Previous experience developing and maintaining relationships virtually
  • Strong English written and verbal communication skills
