Manager, Continuous Improvement (Supply Chain)
We are all about the data and Lean Six Sigma tools to help our business partners better understand the business challenges and balance between cost and service. The Continuous Improvement (CI) team will have laser focus on key Operational metrics that will amaze and delight our customers. From process development and re-engineering to generating a well thought hypothesis and root cause analysis, this team of LSS Black Belts will help identify and deliver solutions working directly with Operations Leadership and our local facility management teams. The CI role will help re-shape, transform and optimize the online home delivery business model for those who are up for the challenge.
In this role you will:
- Lead and drive the core methods of Lean Six Sigma utilizing the DMAIC model across the Peapod network identifying cost savings, productivity, service and capacity improvements across 25+ locations.
- Defining: Developing project charters, SIPOC diagrams, scope, voice of customer (VOC), communcication plans and core working teams.
- Measuring: Value stream mapping, process inputs/outputs, data collection and analysis plans, Measurment System Analysis/Gage R&R, Lead times and Quick Hits.
- Analyzing: Analysis of workflow and cycle times, utilzing measurement results to conduct root cause analysis (brainstorming, FMEA, etc), land on the most viable (Pareto, Hypothesis testing), verify root causes with regression and/or ANOVA testing.
- Improving: Identify all potential solutions (including pilot projects), prioritize the solutions, develop full scale implementation plans, confirm attainment of the project goals, drive it home!
- Controlling: Institute ongoing metrics and control charts, develop and document SOPs, create process control plans, transition ownership to the functional lead and celebrate succcess and sustain the change!
- Require an in-depth knowledge of Supply Chain Management with experience partnering with Local Operations teams in distribution and fulfillment models, transportation, customer service/care, replenishment and business unit/commercial teams, preferrably in food retail.
- Responsible for achieving improved operating expenses targets (2-3% Opex Savings per year) through the implementation of strategic operational projects that are prioritized by operations leadership and that which are directly linked to targeted P&L improvements.
- Conduct detailed analysis of Macro and Micro service KPIs across operations to equally focus on prioritzing and completing projects to improve service results for our valued Peapod customers.
- Build and design an effective Training and Change Management model that transforms our Peapod Culture by working with Human Resoures and Operations; leverage central repository of process standards, documents, SOPs and job aides, etc.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure any and all deployment activities are known to the operations and other affected parties using defined communication strategies and forums.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree with Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification.
- 5-7 years experience in a Supply Chain Operations environment
- Travel will be 25 -50%
