Responsibilities:

  • Build relationships with Clients through constant contact and advocacy by offering advice, solutions, and proactive issue management
  • Deliver upon contract service level agreements, expectations and value proposition
  • Provide effective solutions for Client through extensive knowledgeable on relevant modes of transportation (Air, Ocean, Small Parcel, International, Expedited, LTL, Truckload, Partial, Flatbed, Intermodal etc.)
  • Collaborate with support departments (Finance, IT, Accounting, Carrier Sales, etc.) to drive process efficiency and deliver results to the Client
  • Monitor, improve and report upon key performance indicators including financial performance of accounts and team productivity; lead continuous improvement intiatives
  • Ensure Operations Excellence by training, developing and managing an account team on a daily basis
  • Identify and develop talent through coaching, mentoring and performance management
  • Create, improve and drive compliance to standard operation procedures for internal and external processes
  • Monitor and manage Carrier performance and lead continuous improvement initiatives with Carrier base
  • Develop and implement financial packages for Clients and Carriers, facilitate quick payment and mediate pricing discrepancies between both Clients and Carriers
  • Create and manage reporting for Clients and Carriers; complete root cause analysis and related ad hoc projects as required
  • Conduct market research to proactively communicate industry trends that will impact a Client’s business
  • Evangelize and ensure departmental Standards are adopted within the account team

Qualifications:

  • 5-10+ years’ experience in Logistics industry
  • Proven leader
  • Eagerly accepting of new challenges, and self-managed and motivated
  • Proven ability to become trusted advisor of the Client
  • Confidence to make tough decisions when necessary
  • Proven track record for continuous improvement
