Summary

The Network Administrator will be responsible for installing, configuring, troubleshooting and maintaining network infrastructure components such as network switches, routers, and wireless technology devices and peripherals at our client’s sites as directed by the designated Team Lead and Program Manager. This Administrator will respond to network alarms and outages, dispatch to remote sites for troubleshooting and repairs as well as document network infrastructure, update and close trouble tickets and document root cause of network issues.  This Network Administrator will report to the Project Manager and Team Lead and will work closely with other members of the technology department to support all technology at our client’s sites.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, configure, install and troubleshoot Cisco network switches and other network components to support all aspects of the day to day operations
  • Perform day to day administration and operational functions of the network environment
  • Day to day monitoring of the network, collecting and preparing statistical data for analysis on network performance and availability (monitoring of network device logs, monitoring of port statistics)
  • Documentation of Procedures / Networking environment (ensure that all network documentation is accurate and up to date)
  • Document issue resolution using the helpdesk ticketing system
  • Management of the IOS images and ensuring patches are tested and applied
  • Submit Request for Change forms when needed
  • Participate in Change Advisory Board meeting
  • Configure and troubleshoot wireless network equipment
  • Install and configure software
  • Maintain excellent communication with all end-users and other members of the technology department
  • Assist other team members in executing various project tasks
  • Work with hardware break/fix vendor as needed
  • Execute other assigned tasks as delegated by the Client, Project Manager and Team Lead

Requirements

  • Three or more years of hands-on experience with Cisco Routing and Switching Technologies
  • Familiarity with network architecture and protocols
  • Troubleshooting in a layer 3 networked environment
  • Ability to recognize, analyze, and effectively solve problems in a timely and organized manner using industry best practices and procedures
  • Cisco certifications (i.e., CCENT, Network +, CCNA) knowledge of at least one or more network operating system (LAN or WAN)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Results-oriented and self-motivated with the ability to take ownership of IT projects
  • Must have a valid drivers license
