Job Description

The desired candidate will be a vital part of the Global Networks & Telecom team with expertise required to build and improve the measuring and monitoring of our LAN, WAN, Internet, and Wireless technologies. Motorola Solutions, Inc. runs a state of the art network, optimized for the delivery of voice, data, and video around the globe. Must be a self-motivated team player who is willing to assist others with projects and problems. There is an expectation that the candidate will proactively identify impactful solutions for the future or find improvements to the existing network.

Skills and Experience Desired:

• Working knowledge of network topologies, methodologies and protocols
• Some experience in network management tools such as SolarWinds, SevOne, Nagios, NetBrain, NetScout nGenius Pulse, NetScout nGenius One, Splunk
• Understanding of DNS, IP Addressing, QoS, NetFlow (or similar), Spanning Tree, Multicast
• Knowledge of hardware/software platform problems in network infrastructure.
• Experience with packet capture and analysis
• 1+ years experience with linux based operating systems
• 1+ years experience in scripting languages such as Python, PERL, BASH, or similar
• Ability to provide clear and concise reporting to management while also being able to dig into details of specific line items in those reports

Experience Desired:

• Cisco IOS and NX-OS (to include Nexus line – 2k, 5k, 7k, 9k)
• SDN/SD-WAN
• Security products/practices – ACLs, Firewalls, VPN, etc.
• SNMP, Syslog analysis
• ITIL and Enterprise Change Management
