Founded in 2016, Rheaply, Inc. is a Chicago-based technology company focused on solutions for making organizations more efficient, sustainable, and connected. Rheaply has developed and launched the only exchange technology for researchers to share their ideas and surplus resources with colleagues to reduce time, costs, as well as environmental waste. On Rheaply’s Asset Exchange Manager (AxM), users from all departments can access resources and expertise from colleagues in the same organization or beyond. Recently, Rheaply has been featured in The New York Times, Nature, VERGE, and Greenbiz, chosen as a 10 Big Idea in Innovation by Chicago Magazine, a Circular Economy Solver by MIT SOLVE, and received the 2019 Sustainable Procurement Leadership (SPLC) Award for Circular Economy Leadership among other notable awards and recognitions.

Opportunity

As we continue to grow our business, we are seeking a talented operations associate to provide support to various functions across the Rheaply team. Please note that this team is just getting started, which means there is a great deal of flexibility in how you want to learn & grow within the team and organization. 

What you’ll do:

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Assist with recruitment efforts, including screening & interviewing candidates
  • Coordinate key selection criteria, internal scheduling & collecting feedback from all hiring managers 
  • Acting as a Rheaply ambassador to external vendors & parties 
  • Assist in the new hire onboarding process, which includes creating introductory calendars, providing ideas on improvement & collecting feedback

Day-to-day Business Operations

  • Coordinate and collaborate with internal function leads to enable, support and improve day-today business operations and processes with the goal of enhancing operations
  • Assist in daily operational management across all Rheaply team functions: scheduling meetings, creating slide decks, etc.
  • Assist in troubleshooting problems and issues as they relate to daily operational activities
  • Active participation in building our company culture! 

Organizational Planning & Management

  • Support the engagement committee in planning and executing various events throughout the year (virtual in the short term)
  • Support with the implementation & operations of company policies and standards 
  • Research & implement new tools required on the operational side of the business, such as: performance management, learning & development and feedback collection
  • Execute special projects, including developing strategies and tactics for implementation, monitoring of effectiveness and making recommendations for improvements as required to ensure that overall goals are achieved
     

What you’ll need:

  • 3+ years of professional work experience within a recruiting, operations and/or a people role in a high pressure environment

  • Proven experience with coordinating events and implementing processes with a high-level of organizational skill

  • A positive, can-do attitude! (This is a must!)

  • Articulate with an extremely professional self-presentation and outstanding interpersonal skills

  • Polite and tactful and able to maintain composure under pressure
     

You will stand apart if you have/are:

  • High level of experience & familiarity with Google Docs (Word, sheets, slides, etc.)

  • Comfortable with the unknown & a constantly changing/evolving to-do list! 

  • A champion of sustainability and the potential of a scaled circular economy

  • Self-motivated and organized with sharp project & time management skills.

  • Critical thinker with problem-solving skills.

  • Extremely goal-oriented with a positive attitude and high energy.
