About the job.
We're looking for an Operations Specialist to join our team on a full-time basis to help us maintain and improve critical business operations as we continue to grow. This role requires a high level of organization and effective communication while acting as a liaison between internal teams cross-functionally and outside vendors. You will support Operations Managers in improving operational workflows and support various internal functions (food production and packing, customer order processing, 3rd party logistics, inventory, etc) through sourcing/ordering, data entry/manipulation, and logistics. This role is perfect for you if you thrive in a fast-paced environment and want to help a tech company grow through problem solving and process building.
How you'll spend your time at Tovala:
- Assist with 3rd party logistics coordination to and from production facilities, warehouses, vendors, domestic shipping hubs, and ports of entry.
- Support food production teams by sourcing and ordering materials
- Use excel and internal systems for data entry, analysis, and manipulation
- Prepare documents for weekly functions related to customer order processing, order packing, and order shipment.
- Work with technical teams to identify internal system issues
- Help identify weak points in overall operations processes and recommend improvements
- Help implement, optimize and eventually maintain new operations processes and tools
- Support other operations-related tasks and special projects as necessary
- Maintain vendor relationships. Research and onboard new vendors as needed
*This position will primarily work remotely, but ideal candidate would be able to work on site at our Chicago-area or Salt Lake City-area production facilities on occasion.
Requirements
About you.
- Bachelors or equivalent experience, preferably in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field
- 1-3 years' experience in a professional setting
- You're Proficient in MS Office suite, with strong emphasis on Excel
- You're willing to learn new applications and related tasks.
- You communicate well, both verbally and in writing
- You are incredibly organized and pay attention to details. You notice the little things and are quick to fix them!
- You can operate with a high level of autonomy and thrive when given the freedom and opportunity to solve problems
- You can adapt to change quickly and, when faced with multiple priorities, you work effectively with your team to manage them.
