Moderne Ventures Passport Program Manager
Moderne Ventures is a strategic investment fund focused on technology companies in and around real estate, finance, insurance, hospitality and home services. Moderne has a unique investment model whereby it has partnered with over 700 executives and corporations within its core industries to provide innovation, advisory and growth opportunities that enable leaders in the industry to create competitive advantages and differentiation. Moderne is seeking a Program Manager to manage its Passport Class and Corporate Partner Programming.


Job Description and Primary Responsibilities
The Moderne Passport is a seven-month industry immersion program designed to connect emerging tech companies to our key Industry Partners. We accept 6-10 Companies per class and hold two to three Classes per year. The program generates value for our portfolio, fills gaps, opportunities and challenges for our industry and informs our investment team in key deal making decisions.


The Passport Program Manager is responsible for the key operational activities across our programs. These include onboarding startups, logistics and event management, strategic guidance, matchmaking with participants in the Moderne Network, pilot coordination and on-stage exposure opportunities. It also includes programming with our Corporate Partners and Network, relationship management, content creation, pilot tracking and event procurement and coordination.

Specific Responsibilities Include:
• General. Establish Program Management best practices, processes and procedures for Moderne Passport and its Corporate Programming
• Program Launch. Accept and track applications, manage interview logistics and coordinate onboarding
• Pilots. Pilot procurement, facilitation and coordination between companies and our Moderne Network
• Mentor Meetings and Events. Event procurement and coordination including event planning and logistics, coordinating online and offline mentor meetings, and planning receptions. Coordinate Moderne’s one-on-one mentor meetings both physically (in a non-Covid world) and virtually
• Manage Success Metrics. Understand each of our company’s unique value propositions and help position them for success. Coordinate logistics in collecting company collateral and distribute through our channels
• Team Coordination. Facilitate internal communications, reporting and deliverables among the Moderne Passport team to help keep program on track. Facilitate financial metric tracking, communication and coordination with the Moderne Investment Team
• Communications. Managing Passport and Network communication including social media updates, adding content to the Passport website, owning communication and meeting coordination with Passport Companies and the Moderne Mentor Network, creating content for presentations, Moderne collateral and general firm updates to both the industry and venture communities
• Relationship Management. Manage mentor, company and investor databases. Manage relationships, continued outreach, recruitment and experience
• Corporate Partnerships. Play pivotal role in developing, designing, institutionalizing our Corporate Partnership Program. Be a conduit to bring portfolio companies together with C-level executives to facilitate introductions. Identify and understand our investors’ client challenges and communicate them to the Moderne investment team; understand technologies within Moderne portfolio and outside of it that can address key industry challenges and which produce ROI and strategic value to the industry
• Case Studies. Develop client relationships and build business success stories by helping to provide measurable returns to our partners: work hands-on with our companies and corporate partners to produce meaningful case studies and a means to educate other partners and investors of their success
• Advocate. Maintain Moderne’s strong reputation by continuing to service existing relationships and build new ones
• Lead. Identify new growth opportunities for the firm and contribute to Moderne’s performance as a leading investment fund in venture capital

Required Experience
• 3+ years of program, product or project management roles preferably technology-based
• Experience managing multimillion-dollar complex projects and teams
• Formal PMI training, PMI certification preferred
• Skills and experience managing up and down cross functional teams, including those external to the organization

• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Expert Project Management Software skills
• Expert PowerPoint Skills
• Proficiency / capability to build proficiency in rudimentary website updates
• Business development and corporate advisory acumen
• Willingness to travel 20-40% (after the world returns to normal!)

Compensation & Location
• Salary, performance bonus and carried interest in the firm
• The ideal candidate will be, is willing to be, Chicago-based. Other remote candidates will be considered
