What you will do:
This is a critical position that will own engagement for all Business Technology (BT) employees in the United States, as well as coordinate with other Discover BT locations. You will champion engagement including: volunteerism, employee engagement, and recognition programs. This role is expected to leverage strategic communications, detailed program management, and end to end event planning in order to build a meaningful culture for BT employees. You will be a strategic, tactical, and administrative leader responsible for developing end-to-end programming as well as a leader within the larger BT Chief of Staff team, contributing to the overall success of the team where applicable.
Responsibilities:
- Consults, develops, and leads the design and execution of engagement event planning - recognition efforts, leadership forums, and volunteer events - including being directly responsible for identifying opportunities for process improvements, championing the improvements through the approval process, and implementing them on a consistent basis.
- Responsible for multi-faceted, multi-channel engagement strategies to drive culture, awareness, and engagement across the organization.
- Partners with external vendors to ensure events are delivered to business expectation, managing contracts (as necessary), budget, event communications, and feedback processes.
- Serves as point of contact for all engagement needs and initiatives within the business unit, including communication support and responses for events, announcements, and business meetings as applicable
- Acts as a liaison for the team and communicates regularly on changes, opportunities or trends.
Minimum Qualifications
At a minimum, here's what we need from you:
- Bachelor's Degree in Communications or relevant field
- 8+ years of experience in event planning, strategic communications, relationship management, or related field
- Experience leading multiple, high-quality engagement efforts, organized for a specific outcome
- Strong Project Management skills

- Working in close, collaborative partnerships with the other 'First Team' colleagues, BT Leadership Team and their respective teams, Procurement/Sourcing, and Facilities
- Communicating clearly, concisely with executive presence
- Maintaining a collaborative, executive demeanor with critical listening and influencer skill sets, with a sense of urgency and 90-120-day forward-looking outlook to move efforts forward (while being mindful of interdependencies).
- Developing or evolving processes that become standards and best practices for others in the organization
- Skills in event planning tools (e.g., CVent), communication platforms (e.g., Poppulo, Mailchimp, Marketo, Constant Contact), visual design applications (e.g., Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator, Canva), Microsoft PowerPoint, and Excel
