The Digital Transformation function specializes in change management strategy, with the aim to align people, process, and technology initiatives of Northern Trust to corporate and business unit strategy and vision. This helps to support and innovate new business strategies and operating model amendments on behalf of clients and partners.

Job focus is on managing others and applying operational or strategic management skills.

Management responsibilities and decisions likely include hiring, performance reviews, pay decisions and development. Achieves goals mostly through work of others. Provides leadership to managers and professional staff. Is accountable for the performance and results of multiple related teams. Develops departmental plans, including business, production and/or organizational priorities. Decisions are guided by resource availability and organizational objectives

• Identifies and solves complex, operational and organizational problems leveraging the appropriate resources within or outside the department •

Guided by organization functional business plans, impacts the department results by supporting and funding of projects, products, services and/or technologies

• Seasoned multi-disciplinary expert with extensive technical and / or business knowledge and functional expertise

• Focus of role is on execution of strategic direction of business function activities

• Carries out complex initiatives involving multiple disciplines and/or ambiguous issues

• Displays a balanced, cross-functional perspective, liaising with the business to improve efficiency, effectiveness and productivity

• Makes staffing decisions, manages expenses and salary review process for the division

• Participates in developing division strategic plan and sets goals and priorities based on the direction set for the unit; follows through to ensure that objectives are met

• Provides leadership and guidance to staff, fostering an environment that encourages employee participation, teamwork, and communication.

8 years or more experience with project feasibility, definition requirements, design and/or project leadership.

Experience with various technical programming languages, and phase report studies is required.

Requires an in-depth knowledge of the system development life cycle, the client area's functions and systems, and applications program development technological alternatives, usually obtained by related work experience or Bachelor degree in Computer Science or a related discipline and at least eight or more years of solid, diverse work experience in IT with a minimum of six years experience in systems analysis and application program development, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Also, requires excellent communication skills, analytical ability, strong judgment and management skills, and the ability to work effectively with client and IT management and staff.
