Private Brands Business Operations & Services Lead / Director II

This role is responsible for leading the Business Operations / Services / Regulatory team that provide operations support and services to the broader Private Brands team at Peapod Digital Labs. In addition to leading the design and execution of packaging creative services, this individual is also responsible to manage all aspects of the operational side of delivering new and exciting products to our customers as well as ensure that they meet necessary regulatory requirements. As a top process and oprational leader, this role will also be responsible for the strong direct/indirect management of 20+ employees. This leader is an excellent partner to their internal Private Brand peers as well as Category and Brand Partners, drive strong cross functional partnerships including design, planning, merchandising, and compliance to drive business results.  

Recipe for Success - What's “in store” for the role  

• Leads and oversees the Private Brands design team to ensure timely and flawless execution from design kick-off to print approval. 

• Responsible for managing all apsects of packaging design project management (including both internal and external/third-party traffic). 

• Manages product design priorities and timetables consistent with the priorities and needs of Private Brands and assesses and manages the balance between workload and development resources.? 

• Lead responsibility for Regulatory compliance programs for Private Brand product packaging  

• Leads the business operations managers and/or personally manages (as assigned) departmental  strategic projects to meet the goals and pre-determined timelines/deadlines.  

• Works with Private Brand Leadership Team to review standard processes and work to find ways to improve them. Understand how the teams work together to help with streamlining and improving timelines. 

• Responsible for managing the creation and updating of new product development processes 

• Champion and drive continuous improvement and enhancements to procedures and processes 

• Strong team leader; works to inspire, lead, hire, and develop team members, ensuring the team and individuals are poised for growth. 

The Essentials In Your Cart - The required ingredients   

• Bachelors Degree Required and Masters Degree strongly preferred 

• At least 10 years of related experience in managing complex projects and programs, with experience in new product development and revision  

• Minimum of 5 years of management experience Familiarity with packaging requirements, including Nutrition Facts, Net Weight statements, general regulations FDA, FTC and USDA preferred 

• Strong communicator; professional, organized ? 

• Change management expert; knows best practices and ensures that right steps are taken to execute positive change across the organization  

• Project Management Expert; leadership ability to ensure successful governance and execution of critical priorities within the business   

• Excellent influencing and partnership behaviors; expertise in pushing projects to completion & building strong teams 

• Experience managing a large team; keeping multiple priorities and objectives moving forward while ensuring strong team engagement and results 

• Strong financial acumen: the ability to dig into the details, but also present a holistic, big picture view to senior leadership and brand partners.
