This role is responsible for leading an assigned category vertical within the Private Brands team. This role will have strong financial acumen to ensure that product categories are achieving reasonable targets and working to drive overall goals, and excellent partnership abilities with brand Category leadership, supply chain, and the other Category Development verticals & areas. This position is a very strong team leader (team size will be 10-15 professionals), with the ability to keep pulse and manage many distinct categories and set an overall strategy for innovation...working to prioritize the most critical needs for ADUSA and driving new product creation and execution.   

Recipe for Success - What's “in store” for the role  

• Leads an assigned Product development in a portfolio of categories for ADUSA Private Brands. ? 

• Drives team to establish strategy for product development categories and drives results within these strategies.  

• Ensures Category Development teams are setting targets for category growth and is responsible for accountability of these results.  

• Models partnership behavior with US local brand merchandising leadership to ensure that Private Brands delivers strong category performance and is a strategic advantage for our company. ? 

• Prioritizes & leads new item development with overall Private Brand portfolio and ensures these products are launched successfully across local brands. ? 

• Drives opportunity for private brands to provide insights and leadership to the business in the area of a compelling private brand offering that supports brand category goals. ? 

• Drives PB suppliers to deliver strong results & owns decisions related to changes, along with PB Category Development Managers. 

• Establish and maintain a working environment conducive to positive morale, individual style, quality, creativity, collaboration and teamwork and lead by example. 

The Essentials In Your Cart - The required ingredients  

• Bachelors Degree Required and Masters Degree strongly preferred 

• At least 10 years of experience in category management & product development ? 

• Strong communicator; professional, organized ? 

• Change management expert; knows best practices and ensures that right steps are taken to execute positive change across the organization  

• Excellent influencing and partnership behaviors; expertise in pushing projects to completion & building strong teams 

• Experience managing a large team; keeping multiple priorities and objectives moving forward while ensuring strong team engagement and results 

• Strong financial acumen: the ability to dig into the details, but also present a holistic, big picture view to senior leadership and brand partners.
