Summary

A Property Systems Engineer, is responsible for troubleshooting, administration, configuration, and delivering enhancements for Hyatt’s Opera property management system and the many technology components that support it.  Tasks assigned to this role tend to be more familiar to the team and don’t tend to be problems no one on the team has seen before.  Although technical analysis is required, these tasks are not as complicated as those tackled by more senior team members.  Qualified candidates must have a deep understanding of both Hotel business processes and Opera technology.

Responsibilities

•            Task Management

o            Completes routine tasks accurately and efficiently with no supervision

o            Troubleshoots and resolves issues effectively

•            Technical Expertise

o            Expert in at least 1 of the Opera technologies and competent in at least 3 of the Opera technologies

o            Problems tend to be well understood within the organization and have established processes for fixing them

o            Learns the product(s) being supported

o            Delivers and communicates status of assigned tasks

Qualifications

Experience

•            Demonstrated success troubleshooting technology problems

•            Expertise working with global applications with a distributed user population

•            Knowledge of hotel property-based systems is preferred.  (Opera and/or Micros preferred)

Education

•            Bachelor’s Degree is preferred

Computer Skills Needed to Perform this Job

•            Required Knowledge

o            Knowledge of structured support organizations

o            Knowledge of infrastructure and operations

o            Proficiency in all Microsoft Office tools, including Microsoft Project

•            Knowledge of the fundamentals of at least 3 of each and expert in at least 1 of the following:

o            Windows Administration

o            Web Logic

o            Networking

o            Oracle Query Optimization (Oracle preferred)

o            SQL (Oracle preferred)

o            Storage

o            Virtual Machines (VMware preferred)

o            Automation (PowerShell, Windows scripting, Ansible preferred)

o            Java Client Runtime (JRE)
