What you’ll do in this role:
As the Senior Security and Network Engineer, you will install, administer, and optimize network devices, firewalls, and VPN appliances to achieve high performance of all business applications. working as a team member on Security and Compliance team you will be ensuring Strata has the correct security measures in place and provide continuous improvement opportunities to extend our capabilities and security to our client data. The engineer in this role will focus on the following areas and technologies:
- Cisco firewalls and intrusion prevention
- Cisco FTD appliance as border protection
- Cisco ASAs for VPN connectivity including AnyConnect and IPSEC tunnels
- Cisco FTD in AWS
- Cisco Nexus and Extreme switches
- Encrypted WAN topology connecting Strata’s data centers and cloud infrastructure
- Datacenter switching fabrics using Cisco DCNM
- LAN infrastructure including Meraki wireless
- Enterprise Security
- Duo multifactor authentication
- Cisco AMP, Umbrella, and ISE
- Secure email gateways
- LogRhythm SIEM
- Qualys/Tenable
- AWS Cloud Security using Security Hub, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, etc.
In your role as the Senior Security and Network Engineer, you will be tasked with managing and maintaining this environment including configuration management, upgrades, identification of end of life/support systems that need to be replaced, architecture of new solutions, and recommending and executing modifications to these systems to improve efficiency, reliability, and performance.
Your accomplishments include:
- Minimum 5+ years of networking and firewall experience using Cisco technologies
- Certifications such as CCNP, PCNSE, or equivalent
- Strong analytical skills – the ability to assist in resolving various systems issues for multiple integrated locations and systems.
- Specifically, this position will require daily utilization and problem-solving skills with respect to the following technologies (candidate does not need to be skilled in all the following areas but needs to be knowledgeable on most):
- Cisco FTD and Cisco ASA
- Cisco Networking
- Vulnerability scanners such as Qualys and Tenable
- SIEM
- Security assessment tools such as Nessus, BURP, and NMAP
- Time management and organizational skills are imperative.
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal, with all levels of management and personnel.
- Ability to learn quickly and apply learned principles
