Your Responsibilities

• Creating strategic and operationally efficient processes, in collaboration with the team.
• Working with peers, partner teams, and vendors to develop solutions and deepen the value proposition of Upwork's Classification & Onboarding Services
• Leading day-to-day classification and onboarding functions for Upwork Clients, including a team of individual contributors.
• Being the Upwork's Classification & Onboarding authority and utilize your history and experience to educate partners and clients about the impact and expectations of their account.
• Collaborating with leadership to adapt processes to enhance service experience for both Client and Freelancer.
• Expecting responsibilities to change with business needs and consistently evolve over time.

• Strategically represent end to end solutions holistically as well as weighing in on strategic ideas from others while applying your expertise
• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment to build relationships and manage them remotely.
• A positive, supportive attitude focused on helping our Freelancers, Clients, at all times while maintaining a focus on compliance.
• Exercise sound independent judgment & discretion in sensitive matters that significantly impact Upwork.
• Specialized knowledge of independent contractor & employment law and policy at a state, federal, and global level.
• Ability to multitask and effectively prioritize responsibilities in a deadline-driven environment.
• You are a technology wizard driven for scale.

The annual base salary for this position in California and Washington ranges from $79,000 - 115,000. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum salary for this position in California and Washington, and individual base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Additionally, this position is eligible for the annual bonus plan or sales incentive plan and eligibility to participate in our long term equity incentive program.
