Summary of Responsibilities: 

This position will oversee the Logistics department and directly manage the e-commerce small parcel and line-haul networks.

Detailed Responsibilities:

• Responsibility Area:
• Oversee Logistics department (ecomm, retail, 3rd party, inbound, transfers)
• Directly manage ecomm small parcel and line-haul network
• Operate as escalation point person for truckload carriers
• Manage small parcel carriers, pricing, zip coverage and volume distribution
• Work with Fulfillment and plant teams to plan and execute daily and weekly volume splits by plant and carrier
• Manage relationship with Kroger small parcel and category management teams
• Continue work with Ops Tech to build new, and enhance current, tools
• Continue work with Data team on small parcel carrier data ingestion
• Track and report on KPIs for shipping and error costs and on-time carrier performance
• Coaching and development of direct reports, delegate tasks
• Maintain data within internal tools, work with Logistics Analyst to build out more robust reporting

Qualifications:

• Highly autonomous and proactive
• Strong verbal and written communicator and negotiator
• 3+ years logistics and/or transportation experience required
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required
• Strong Excel and Google sheets skills; script knowledge preferred
• Strong ability to multi-task and flexibly switch between tasks, detail orientation, organization
• Strong sense for numbers in a business context e.g., prices, spend
• Must be willing to travel 10%Must be available to respond to work related inquiries nights and weekends
