West Monroe is looking for a Senior Manager (Consulting) to join our Technology Transaction Services (TTS) Practice and focus on IT due diligence for the sake of client M&A activity. The senior manager will partner with both Transaction Services consultants from other specialties and executive client stakeholders to deliver holistic tech assessment and advisory solutions across a variety of industries, including Private Equity, High-Tech & Software, Healthcare, and Financial Services. They will leverage a broad background in cloud and infrastructure design, architecture, operations, leadership, and strategy to help client executives navigate their decision-making process when entertaining potential acquisitions. This is an exciting opportunity to work within our newly formed (but long existing) technology M&A offering and lead strategic IT assessment, advisory, and compliance focused initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Perform assessments of existing client IT infrastructures and document "as-is" environments
- Organize project work into client presentations, outlining findings and recommendations for C-level executives
- Work with clients to develop strategy around IT systems, networking and telecommunication, and cybersecurity
- Plan, organize, and manage cloud and infrastructure-related projects and workstreams
- Engage with industry teams, including our Mergers & Acquisitions practice, to perform technology due diligence and serve as ad hoc ‘Infrastructure Lead’ for post-close integration/separation projects
- Interact with key client decision makers to drive projects to completion, including C-Suite and Tech Directors
- Develop detailed designs in the following areas: on-premises data (Windows Server, LAN, WAN, Data Center), Cloud (AWS, Azure), Network Security (Firewalls, IDS/IPS)
- Assess, advise, and recommend solutions based on both current and future state, while proposing relevant projects to address shortcomings
- Contribute to both TTS practice development and the business development process at existing clients, looking for additional opportunities for West Monroe solutions
- Promote thought leadership in emerging technologies and industry trends; from partnerships to go-to-market offerings and strategy, through to design and implementation
Qualifications:
- 10-15+ years of experience leading the design, build, and deployment of cloud and on-premise IT solutions
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field preferred, or equivalent experience required
- Consulting firm/industry experience preferred, ideally with Tech M&A exposure (not required)
- Understanding of various technical areas across IT environments to be assessed during M&A activity – on-premise implementations, network security, cloud platforms, infrastructure security and vulnerability, data center, vendors, compliance, operations, team structures, processes, etc.
- Strong experience leading teams and project managing end-to-end solutions, which could include strategy, design, development, testing and training, and/or ad hoc post-close remediation work
- Excellent organizational, verbal, presentation/facilitation, and written communication skills
- Professional level certifications preferred – AWS, Azure, Cisco, ITIL, CISSP, etc.
- Willingness to travel for client engagements – COVID-19 permitting
