Relativity is seeking a Senior Manager of Business Operations to lead a Business Operations team focused on continuously improving and owning companywide “Execution Framework” and on increasing Efficiency & Effectiveness of our Operations in Engineering.

Senior Manager of Business Operations will wear multiple hats and will be involve in driving and coordinating highly cross functional activities needed to ensure we are executing well as a business and marching in the same direction (“the Execution Framework”). In particular, the person will oversee the annual planning process to ensure that our planning is done on time and tied to our strategy. The annual planning needs to drive and be aligned with the other annual processes, including budgeting (Finance), strategic workforce planning (HR), KIs (Business Operations), and department roadmaps. This person will also manage KI selection process, including working closely with the departments and company leaders on creating KI proposals that are well defined and tied to our company strategy, managing the annual KI selection process, focusing and aligning the leadership team to select a few KIs for each year.

The Senior Manager and the Business Operations team will also support department operation teams and leaders in driving one-off strategic operational projects as needed. In particular we expect this team to work closely with the CTO, Engineering leaders and FP&A team to improve Engineering Operations, Efficiency and Effectiveness. As part of this cooperation the role will proactively work on most critical operational challenges, including resource allocation, priority operations improvement projects, efficiency/process improvements. The Senior Manager will also establish and manage the right processes, systems, and procedures within Engineering to execute against our overall business and product strategy.

Finally, the Senior Manager will also be responsible for managing the overall KI roundtable and working closely with the KI owners throughout the year, to make sure that we meet the results outlined in the KIs for that year. Ultimately, this person will be responsible together with the KI leaders to make sure we deliver on our priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Managing an effective annual planning process (incl KIs)
  • Lead efforts, working closely with the Executive team on cross-functional Key Imperatives (KI) teams and Strategy, to develop, finetune and implement companywide Annual Planning of Key Imperatives process
  • Refine KI methodology and selection process by which we can measure business need, alignment with strategic goals and potential success of proposed initiatives.
  • Review KI presentation and proposals to ensure the importance of KIs is depicted clearly and effectively.
  • Work closely with KI owners, navigate them through the proposal and deep dive scoping stages to ensure the Executive team has the necessary information to make informed decisions.
  • Involve and work closely with the Executive, Finance, HR and Strategy teams to deliver annual Key Imperatives planning efforts aligned with our budgeting and workforce planning processes.
  • Design and facilitate KI selection process to be used in the Executive team KI selection meetings
  • Managing the ongoing efforts to deliver on our KIs
  • Oversite of the Key Imperatives implementation efforts, work closely with the cross-functional KI teams, owners and Relativity leaders to drive successful execution of the KIs throughout the year.
  • Be involved in KI status monitoring, work closely with KI owners to assist them in navigating through the KI challenges and give strategic direction to help in successful delivery.
  • Manage and facilitate the KI debrief meetings with the Executive team, giving KI owners further exposure to the leadership team to gain their insights and promote KI efforts.
  • KI program management, including periodic health checks and reporting on the KI efforts, providing summary briefs to the Executive team.
  • Improving Department Bus Operations (focus on Engineering)
  • Partner closely with Engineering and FP&A to drive cross-functional projects to improve engineering efficiency and implement consistent processes
  • Working closely with Engineering Leadership and FP&A team, develop and implement empirical prioritization processes for evaluating project investment decisions and establish common success metrics to enable cross portfolio prioritization (e.g. incremental efficiency gain, revenue or profit, adoption, customer satisfaction).
  • Develop a methodology to consistently monitor and analyze data driven and actionable Key Performance Indicator metrics, drive consensus for the KPIs implementation.
  • Refine and keep evergreen Engineering performance reporting, KPI dashboards, and other tools to regularly and consistently monitor health the group’s efforts.
  • Drive department KPIs Dashboard automation efforts, evaluate data sources, solutions and opportunities to create hands-off dashboards.
  • Manage data driven discovery of improvement priorities, set priorities and develop opportunity evaluation framework to focus group’s project efforts.
  • Lead various cross-functional operations planning and project initiatives.
  • Implement processes to create efficient, clear, and timely communications of Engineering project efforts.
  • OMS Management:
  • Ensure that our Operating Management System (OMS) stays current, proactive, and aligns with annual planning
  • Align the OMS with the broader strategic needs of the company, including Operating Committee (the OC) meetings of Department Heads and the Extended Leadership Team meetings, giving us more time to think to make sure we are aligned and making the right data driven decisions as a business.
  • Drive the Executive participation in the recurring KI Roundtable meetings, giving KI Owners time to discuss the KI progress with the leadership team and further facilitate culture of open feedback, accountability, and ownership.
  • Aggregate full year meeting planning in one place to drive efficient operations.

Requirements

  • At least 6 years of total experience with significant experience across strategy, operations, process improvements, and change management
  • Direct experience working closely and across Strategy, Support/Success, Engineering, FP&A
  • Must be a changemaker, able to influence and inspire change in our people, process, technology, and policy
  • Passionate about delivering exceptional experiences that delights customers
  • Experience in process improvement and operational efficiencies
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to drive business transformation in a matrix organization
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills with a demonstrated ability to excel in multiple projects amidst a fast-paced, cross-functional, results-oriented work environment
  • Ability to work efficiently - demonstrate a bias for action amidst ambiguous projects and deadlines
  • Work experience that shows a history of both strategic and "hands-on" projects
  • Ability to analyze information, solve complex problems, and identify best practices/lessons learned
  • Ability to listen, adapt, and guide teams through influence
  • Work experience showing leadership of complex initiatives with organization-wide impact
  • Excellent analytics and strategic planning skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong project management skills
