SENIOR TRAINING CONSULTANT, C&IS FUNCTIONAL TRAINING DEPARTMENT

BUSINESS UNIT DESCRIPTION

Northern Trust Global Fund Services (GFS) supports client, who have multiple fund structures across multiple jurisdictions, with expertise in traditional and alternative vehicle. Servicing investment manager and fund company clients for over 30 years, we have developed expertise in administering the full spectrum of investment strategies from the most straightforward to the most complex. The business provides comprehensive middle office and administration services, including trade processing, asset servicing, valuation and reconciliations, accounting and NAV calculations and investor servicing and reporting. We offer our clients services that will evolve with their changing requirements.

ROLE SUMMARY

As a member of the C&IS Global Learning Training Team, the Senior Training Consultant consults with all levels of management to translate business requirements into learning and development solutions. Also ensures that learning and development outcomes are aligned with the needs of the Business Unit and Northern Trust. A Senior Consultant is required to lead as well as work collaboratively with Training Consultants. This role assists management in the design, development, implementation and maintenance of programs and curriculums that support management and development. The successful candidate will deliver and / or oversees the delivery of a wide range of learning and performance support solutions, likely to be highly visible and complex in nature. The Senior Consultant role will engage with local and regional practice leads and stakeholders to deliver the solutions required to support organizational goals at a local and global level

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES, CONSULTANT

* Consults with all levels of management to translate business requirements into learning and development solutions.

* Uses data / metrics to drive decisions and learning solutions.

* Develops and implements programs that support individual and organizational performance that are aligned with Business Unit and / or enterprise-wide needs.

* Designs Scope and Design documents to ensure that learning and development initiatives are communicated effectively to stakeholders.

* Evaluates existing training solutions to identify areas for improvement and maintain highest quality delivery.

* Identifies and evaluates viability of new learning development vehicles, tools or programs developed by other organisations or vendors. Recommends purchase of programs to management, as appropriate.

* Facilitates / conducts learning needs analysis.

* Acts as project manager for major, complex and high-profile learning and development initiatives.

* Keeps abreast of learning and development best practices and introduces them to Northern and GFS Training.

AREA SPECIFIC DUTIES - FUND ACCOUNTING / UVRS

* Develop / coordinate / deliver the mandatory i2i program mandatory curriculum within assigned geographic location.

- Liaise with stakeholders and C&IS GL management to outline program requirements

- Continuous evaluation of the i2i program

* Design, develop and maintain a training curriculum for the Fund Accounting + UVRS functions within the Global C&IS curriculums, which can be implemented and delivered regardless of geographic location.

* Coordinate / deliver the new hire curriculum within your geographic location.

* Design and deliver training for existing systems and new system roll-outs.

* Ensures that C&IS Functional learning is aligned with the Business Unit and / or enterprise-wide needs.

* Consult with areas in the business unit to provide ongoing support.

* Work collaboratively with other Global Training Teams.

* Coaches and mentors more junior members of staff.

* Lead global projects within the C&IS Global Learning Fund Accounting Training group.

SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

The desired candidate:

• is a technical expert with in-depth knowledge in area of expertise and strong knowledge of the business unit, wider C&IS and corporate strategies.

• is able to consult independently with and influence all levels of the organization, particularly senior leaders.

• has strong project management capabilities.

• has excellent communication, marketing, relationship, facilitation and motivational skills.

• shows strong judgment in the ability to formulate plans based on needs and leadership styles of key leaders.

• executes efficiently and effectively.

• Leadership and organizational skills are essential to prioritise assignments and provide candid feedback to staff.

For this position, we are looking for an individual that fits one of the two profiles below:

1. An experienced operations professional willing to develop their consulting, writing and presenting skills.

Requirements include:

* Minimum of five years of operational experience, preferably in a GFS Function or a similar role in Financial services

* Excellent communication skills

* Ability to work with all levels of staff

* Self-starter and team player

* Attention to detail

2. An experienced training professional willing to quickly learn all aspects of the GFS Function.

Requirements include:

* Minimum of five years of training consulting experience

* Excellent communication skills

* Ability to work with all levels of staff

* Self starter and team player

* Attention to detail

All candidates will be asked to present and submit a technical writing sample, either procedures or training documentation.
