We are looking for our first Senior Workplace Specialist to help us run our Chicago office! As our first People Team hire, you will be our cultural champion performing a wide range of office support, administrative, and HR to facilitate the efficient operation of our company.

As the Senior Workplace Specialist, you will oversee daily operational functions that support an environment where employees can thrive. You will be in charge of building and vendor relationships, office appearance, and cultivating workplace culture. Our ideal candidate is handy, highly organized, personable, and has the ability to quickly problem-solve. 

What you'll do

  • Workplace Experience
  • Order and stock office supplies
  • Manage onboarding and offboarding tasks
  • Maintain a tidy office
  • Report and track support tickets with the building
  • Order and distribute employee badges
  • Create office policies and procedures and educate employees on them
  • Manage the food program and other office vendors
  • Track office spend
  • Coordinate events with the help of our SF team, including set up and clean up
  • Serve as a culture carrier for Affirm, scheduling & coordinating team off-sites and events throughout the year
  • Recruiting Support
  • Support Affirm’s Diversity & Inclusion efforts in Chicago with the help of our SF team
  • Liaise with SF Talent team for Chicago interviews
  • Greet all candidates attending onsite interviews and provide office tours
  • Find opportunities to improve/streamline candidate experience and implement such changes
  • Ensure onsite interview are running efficiently and on time

  • Ability to identify underlying issues (not just opt for the quick fix)
  • Familiarity with tools for office issues
  • Strong communication skills across various teams
  • Flexible and able to adapt to a changing environment
