Software Quality Assurance Manager

West Monroe is looking for a Software Quality Assurance Manager within the Intellio Labs team, with the responsibility for building and managing a QA function across several proprietary software assets. The QA Manager will be responsible for defining testing strategies and release processes to ensure conformance to quality standards. Activities include creation of testing plans, risk identification and management, continuous improvement, management of code quality KPIs, and clear communication to the team leaders.
We expect the QA Manager to leverage a variety of technical skills, soft skills, and industry knowledge to contribute to the success of the Intellio Labs team. S/He must be able to learn quickly, adapt to changing requirements, and have a strong attention to detail to ensure all releases are of the highest quality and caliber.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and recommend improvements to the existing functional automated testing framework for our largest product, Intellio DataOps.
- Includes automated integration with the existing DevOps processes, CI/CD, and release operations
- Plan and document testing processes and plans to support scheduled releases and deployments
- Including manual testing and internal engineering QA processes
- Interact with members of the Intellio Labs product teams, West Monroe line consultants, and West Monroe thought leaders to understand their vision and provide feedback to the estimation and prioritization process
- Work in a collaborative team setting to ensure all functionality is thoroughly tested with overarching test plans, test cases, and KPIs to measure success / impact of QA function
- Provide clear communication on both the overall purpose of any of the Intellio products, as well as specific features to a business (non-technical) user to help with sales and client management
- Identify and resolve issues with minimal oversight that arise during the design, testing, and ongoing maintenance processes using critical thinking skills
- Manage QA Engineers who focus on implementation of frameworks and testing processes
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field preferred, or equivalent experience required
- Consulting firm/industry and/or start-up product development experience preferred
- Experience with Cypress automation framework or another JavaScript end to end framework
- Selenium, Mocha, Jest, Jasmine/Karma, Protractor, etc.
- Deep functional experience with quality assurance frameworks and regression testing strategies
- Understanding of data engineering concepts and basic SQL syntax
- Experience integrating automated testing frameworks into continuous integration solutions
- 5+ years of experience in quality assurance of products with preferred skills in the following:
- Project management software
- Microsoft Office Suite (specifically Excel and Powerpoint)
- Self-service Business Intelligence technology (specifically PowerBI)
- Comfortable working within a fast-paced, collaborative, Agile/Scrum project environment
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and verbal/written communication skills
