About the role:

As the Solution Consultant, you’ll play a critical role in working as part of our sales team to manage multiple complex and high priority solution related support during the pre-sales phase of a customer engagement.  

As an integral part of the sales team, Solution Consultants are experts in Label Insight’s products, data, and capabilities providing pre-sales based support.  The Solution Consultant owns the solution discovery, scoping, understanding the customer business requirements, understanding the customer’s data and integration requirements along with their use case for the data.  The Solution Consultant delivers compelling business value focused presentations and custom demonstrations catered toward the customer, deeper dive data presentations, coordinating proof of concepts such that the client has full confidence in Label Insight’s ability to meet or exceed their critical business requirements.

The Solution consultant helps to identify compelling value creation from Label Insight data solutions for our pre-sales prospects and upsell customer engagements.  Ensures the individualized solution incorporates the customer’s and Label Insight’s overall business strategy and technical vision.  Engages and drives all solution communications with customer during the pre-sale process and provides consultative support throughout the solution’s implementation phase.   The Solution consultant also provides expert consultation and training on Label Insight data.

The ideal candidate brings a strong background in data management, data analysis and data integration technology, great customer communication skills, customer solution delivery, and experience in the CPG product and retailer spaces.  Solution Consultants are able to operate independently and demonstrate leadership, responsibility and ownership within the pre-sales environment.  You will be able to manage multiple engagements, proactively determining priorities and deliver compelling, engaging, and relevant sales focused presentations, demonstrations, and discovery meetings.  You will form a tight partnership with the sales lead that provides strong, consistent message.   If this sounds like you, and you thrive in a collaborative, very fast paced high growth startup environment, we want to talk to you!

What you'll be responsible for:

  • Consult with customer with emphasis on solution design and business requirements, and customer use case for the data.  Ensure overall solution requirements and design incorporate Label Insight and customer’s overall solution vision.  
  • Engage directly with customers in face to face meetings to build trust in Label Insight solution and drive convincing presentations to the customer that the Label Insight solution will help them meet their business goals and objectives.   
  • Organize and deliver all data and technical focused pre-sales activities, coordinating with the sales lead to provide a comprehensive view of Label Insight’s value.
  • Act as an expert on Label Insight data and products, industry standards, market dynamics, consumer product data technical architectures and applications used across retail, e-commerce, CPG, government and partner ecosystem companies.
  • Collaborate with customer teams to understand use case(s), define solution components, capture specific requirements;  design data, technical and business process elements to inform implementation plans; develop measurement approaches to track value achieved.
  • Create the Statement of Work (SOW) that becomes part of the contract and accurately describes the data, products and services that are to be delivered.
  • Collaborate with the prospect / customer leads to establish success objectives and measures at business ROI (ex: cost savings, sales increases, competitive advantages) and strategic levels (ex: transparency initiatives) to enable buy-in and approval for execution within the customer organization.  
  • Identify  the customer key success objectives and develop specific measurement techniques related to individual product components (ex: quantify the impact of rich attribution and product transparency metrics for our e-commerce customers- more views, click throughs, sales?).
  • Work with Customer Success and other internal Label Insight teams to fully define and scope new solutions, and once sold  transition to the project implementation phase.
  • Interface to product, data and engineering teams to reflect Voice of the Customer around high value applications, provide inputs into concept development and long term vision.
  • Formalize capture of specific use case or problem / pain-point scenarios with measurable business case impact to construct standard library to be leveraged across the Customer Success and Sales teams.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams to foster alignment with account plans, marketing initiatives and corporate strategy.
  • Work with Customer Success and other Label Insight teams to develop and deliver continuous education programming to create experts across key areas of the customer organization.
  • In collaboration with other team members, where appropriate identify expansion sales opportunities, via increasing footprint of existing contracted solutions, enabling introduction of new products / solutions sets.
  • Consult with prospects and customers to expand existing use cases, and uncover innovative new applications and use cases for LI data solutions.

About You / Your Creds:

  • Education: BS or similar degree in related technical or business field, data analytics desirable.
  • 5+ years experience working in solution delivery / analytics for IT/data solutions in large enterprises, SaaS environment experience desirable. 
  • 3+ years working in pre-sales or customer consulting for data based solutions.
  • Experience in CPG manufacturer and / or retail highly desirable, especially in areas related to product data.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Very effective presenter to internal and customer teams and management.
  • Familiarity with SaaS environments, and agile development and business methodologies.  

Industry Knowledge: 

  • Familiarity with consumer product label data elements and attributes, systems used to house and analyze this data.
  • SmartLabel digital consumer product data solutions.
  • Regulatory aspects of consumer product labeling.
