Position Overview

Part of the Operations department reporting to the Director of Solutions, you will act as a manager for the solutions department coordinating and executing the continuous improvement initiatives associated with our existing Managed Transportation clients. This is a key role that will lay the groundwork for successful, long term client partnerships as well as continued strong partnerships with current clients. Throughout the solutions process, you will be required to partner with several internal and external stakeholders at different stages. You will need to support the sales process both before and after signing new clients and keep all parties focused on both achieving new clients and successful on-boarding and maintenance of those clients who partner with Echo. Major responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Managing the solutions team to ensure forward progress of all projects, work with Business Development and sales to qualify and build solutions for new clients, ensure continuous process improvement, and development of all team member skills.

Essential Job Functions

Every task should focus around building relationships with clients through constant contact and advocacy by understanding and communicating client objectives, creative solutions, and assisting Operations to set up a strong infrastructure to manage the accounts for a long partnership.

Incumbent Client Support – 50%

  • Maintain analysis schedule for all accounts within assigned book of incumbent business & attend 1 CBR per year for each
  • Oversee completion of Account Management initiated AMPDs within department metric return times
  • Support account management team to provide revised or new solutions for existing enterprise clients
  • Attend all Analyst Solutions Presentations to Account Management, Manager will lead all presentations over $5MM FUM
  • Assist Account Management with final presentation of solution to client when requested

 Solutions Department Management – 20%

  • Allocate use of assigned team’s resources, supervise direct reporting staff according to company policy
  • Complete annual employee reviews for direct reports and ensure alignment with department goals and metrics
  • Manage the solutions pipeline to set priorities of assigned analyst team based upon the department’s metrics
  • Ensure all projects are delivered complete and on time by the assigned Analyst Team
  • Support & coach Solutions Analysts to advance their career path within the organization
  • Provide direction and support to employees to ensure completion of all assigned duties and tasks
  • Review and sign off on all Analyst projects over $1MM FUM for accuracy and completeness
  • Attend all meetings with Analyst to present findings to Sales/BD

Sales and Business Development Support – 10%

  • Attend Bi-weekly Deal Initiation/Deal Review meetings
  • Review Analyst prepared final solution and assessment for completeness prior to presentation to BD
  • Attend all Analyst Solutions Presentations to BD, Manager will help lead all solutions presentations over $5MM FUM
  • Work with Sourcing Team to identify where and to what level additional sourcing can improve Echo costs
  • When required presentation of final solution to be made directly to potential client with Sales/BD
  • Lead innovation into new and unique client solutions

Continuous Process Improvement – 10%

  • Continually improve the audit and qualification process to enable better solutions generation
  • Help drive the improvement of analytics tools used by Solutions
  • Continually improve the entire BD process with the input of sales
  • Conduct regular comparisons of original CMs to post Go Live actual CMs

Interdepartmental Support – 10%

  • Assist Implementation or Account Management to fill out pricing tab of LTL RFPs to show carriers their target pricing
  • Will help lead the analysis of CSP acquired by Sourcing to help Implementation and Account Management decide final carriers mix and expected margin for new accounts in Implementation
  • Continue to understand Echo’s integration offerings and how they can improve efficiencies to prepare accurate CMs
  • Work with Inside Sales to provide support for larger RFPs that need rater support

Requirements

Qualified candidates will possess the following characteristics and experience:

  • Strong background in Transportation/Supply Chain
  • Proven ability to lead a strong team
  • Experience using Power Point, Excel, Word, & Tableau
  • Customer facing experience, Sales experience a plus
  • 3-5 years work experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proven performer who is effective at “multi-tasking”
  • Ability to learn Echo’s proprietary Transportation Management Systems
  • Self-managed and motivated
  • Enjoys and thrives in fast paced, fluid work environment
  • Ability to follow through with tasks to their completion
  • Analytical
  • Very organized and detail oriented
  • Ability to travel up to 5-10 %

Education

Undergraduate Degree; Supply Chain/Logistics or Operations Management degrees preferred
