Support Representative

As a Shiftgig Support Agent, you are working with both our Specialist and Clients—part human resources agent, part customer experience professional, and part technology troubleshooter.

What you’ll do:

  • Assist Specialists and clients with a variety of questions and concerns over a variety of communication channels (Zendesk, phone, social media, etc.).

  • Investigate and resolve payroll, tech, and policy issues by understanding and navigating a complex and changing landscape of technology platforms.

  • Support clients with a variety of service requests including order placement, pay discrepancy resolution, and more.

  • Investigate complex disciplinary situations and terminate Specialists, if necessary.

  • Act as an HR, Hiring, and Payroll team liaison, working closely with these teams to assess and resolve.

  • Identify and develop scalable processes in order to advance Shiftgig’s mission to connect millions of workers with millions of shifts.

  • Educate, coach, and mentor Specialists for success on the Shiftgig platform.

  • Handle sensitive employment information with care and compliance.

  • Be an advocate for and champion of Shiftgig Specialists.

Collaborating with other teams in the company is a great opportunity. When I need more clarity on a product feature I am developing, my first instinct is to get up and talk to those who will be impacted. By having a simple conversation with a teammate, you can learn so much and make the initial feature idea more valuable.

"I found Shiftgig straight out of college with little work experience due to being a full-time student and mom. Shiftgig took a chance on me and hired me in an entry level position as Centralized Sourcer. Two years and a few promotions later, I'm a Specialist Hiring Analyst and continuing to learn and grow in my career."

What unique initiatives do you have that encourage innovation?

Each quarter, product and engineering steps away from our traditional sprint cycle and participates in a special innovation sprint. We embrace exploring new ideas that could impact the future of Shiftgig. We hold a pitch session, form teams, and a week later, demo our results. Oftentimes, our prototypes and learnings inform our roadmap.

What does your typical day look like?

Each day the product team does a daily check-in to catch up on yesterday’s accomplishments, today’s plans, and any blockers in the way of our goals. Our product development process is centered on close communication with internal and external stakeholders which enables us to discover problems and validate and build solutions effectively every day.
