The Power Systems and Controls Development Team within Large Power Systems Division is looking for operation senior engineer, located in Mossville, IL.
As an operation engineer, you will be responsible for providing PS&CD's operation metric updates to management and help drive operation efficiency improvement projects. This role will work with PS&CD and IPSD-shared operation team, primarily within Tech Center - Building L, to help them understand high level trends, to gain insight into specific details for current status and to engage in action-oriented discussion. This role will have an opportunity to execute high visibility projects with contribution to strategic as well as day-to-day operation improvement of various aspect of power system development in the building.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintain and develop Power BI reports for operation metrics.
  • Work collaboratively with various functional team for effective execution of lab issue resolution process
  • Lead resource demand process, identify potential resource gap, and help resolve conflicts
  • Create weekly test cell occupancy table and help minimize test cell footprint.
  • Create reports for regular operation meetings
  • Employee is also responsible for performing other job duties as assigned by Caterpillar management from time to time.


Basic Qualifications:

  • A 4-year degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience working in an operations/support role
  • Self-starter with strong leadership skills
  • Strong communication skills - Oral and written, ability to create presentation/reports
  • Analytical skills to collect and summarize large quantity of operation data


Top Candidates will also have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering
  • Proficient in Power BI, Excel, and VBA macro
  • Experience in engine development operation processes
  • Familiar with LPSD and IPSD products

  • This position will close on 11/24/21 @ 11:59PM.
  • This position is located in Mossville, IL.
  • up to 10% travel required
