Vendor Operations Team Lead
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
This full-time position supports VelocityEHS primarily by being the main, daily point of contact with vendors engaged in SDS obtainment and indexing projects. Working side by side with Content Operations Department leadership, this person is tasked with improving the Company’s ROI with its SDS obtainment and indexing vendors.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Act as “coach” for Vendor Operations sub-unit; take lead on issue escalations/resolutions, pertinent training/coaching, work assignment, and workflow oversight.
- Main daily point of contact for VelocityEHS vendors engaged in SDS obtainment and CIP projects.
- Lead on change management for process updates associated to vendor SOPs.
- Review vendor project metrics to assess vendor performance, and to identify issues or opportunities for improvement that can be addressed through training, FAQ publication, SOP design, etc.
- Perform QA for project batches.
- Work with Content Operations leadership to develop and maintain vendor and departmental success metrics and reports and to provide transparency to other departments.
- Collaborate with other departments to improve processes and communication.
- Oversee and manage standard and special indexing processes, as well vendor volume expectations.
- Own the SDS obtainment project batch review process. Ensure individual project metrics are aggregated into one overall vendor result repository.
- Work with Vendor Support Specialist(s) and Operations Project Coordinators with the process of list generations, as well as opportunities for list obtainment and indexing automation.
- Support project owners by reviewing returned vendor batches on SDS obtainment projects; perform necessary work to increase the overall success rate. Communicate ongoing project(s) status to affected employees and department leadership.
- Communicate ongoing projects’ status to department leadership.
- Participate in regularly-scheduled vendor meetings to discuss the progress of ongoing projects, projected volume intake, review identified issues, etc.
- Create, maintain, and socialize SDS obtainment and indexing FAQs.
- Ensure vendor concerns are addressed and/or routed to the appropriate internal party for addressing.
- Act as the liaison between the vendors and VelocityEHS project owners where early SDS obtainment challenges are identified.
- Serve as subject matter expert on all facets of SDS obtainment and indexing, including VelocityEHS and vendor-specific processes; provide the expertise necessary to train/coach vendor and VelocityEHS staff.
- Ensure that vendor staff have been certified in all SDS obtainment and indexing procedures.
- Become continuous improvement zealot in all areas of SDS obtainment and indexing.
- Manage nightly project batch indexing prioritizations, especially in times of peak volumes.
REQUIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
Minimal Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline or equivalent work experience
- 3+ years of related professional experience. This experience would preferably have demonstrated accomplishments in a project/team leadership role.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as foster a team environment

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Passionate about his/her work
- SQL familiarity a plus
