Vice President, Real Estate
The Role
The Vice President, Real Estate, is a high-impact leader responsible for the vision and strategy of Green Thumb’s real estate assets. Reporting to the CFO and working cross-functionally to support our retail, manufacturing and corporate/HQ real estate needs, this role requires a self-sufficient, strategic and results-focused leader to execute the Green Thumb real estate strategy. This position provides day to day oversight of process management, execution and accountability of the real estate asset management team along with responsibility for developing and executing asset and portfolio strategies. Overall focus is contributing to the company’s highest and best use strategy to maximize value of current and developing assets. Working in one of the fastest growing industries of cannabis, we are looking for a thoughtful executional leader with experience working in a real estate investment firm, brokerage or in-house position.
Responsibilities
- Manage Real Estate Broker relationships
- Oversee and handle negotiation of new leases, revising current leases, acquisitions / dispositions, site selection, evaluation and property management
- Own and drive site selection process for new and present markets
- Lease Administration and tracking, along with lease negotiation for renewals and expansions
- Carry out lease transaction projects including defining requirements, comprehensive market analyses, requesting lease proposals, performing financial and qualitative analyses, negotiating deal terms with all parties, securing approvals from executive management, and executing leases
- Manage due diligence, entitlements, budgets, architectural design, permitting and project scheduling from acquisition through completion
- Manage real estate appraisal and valuation, location incentives, and real estate analytics
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA preferred
- 6 – 10 years’ experience with 5+ years leading deal-side real estate broker management
- Negotiation experience in commercial management, financial analysis, lease negotiations and contract management
- Experience working cross-functionally to translate brand strategies into operational execution
- Experience managing across multiple states and regions a must
- Highly motivated, self-directed, innovative and able to work independently or among teams with keen judgement, common sense and resourcefulness
- Adapts and thrives in a demanding, fast-paced environment
- Possesses a high level of critical thinking
- Operates with a high level of professionalism and integrity, including dealing with confidential information
- Must understand and comply with the rules, regulations, policies, and procedures of Green Thumb
- Must have a solid understanding of the Cannabis laws, rules and regulations and passion to further their understanding and knowledge of the industry and the laws

- Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry
- Must possess valid driver’s license
- Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
- Must be approved by state badging agency to work in cannabis industry
