The VP, Corporate Development will be responsible for Groupon’s M&A practice. They will source, evaluate, and execute acquisition opportunities aimed at accelerating Groupon’s growth. They will work with Groupon’s leaders to help define go to market strategy in both new and existing verticals.

Responsibilities:

  • You will evaluate and explore acquisition opportunities for Groupon

  • You will work with business leaders to develop strategies for M&A that solve their needs. Identify trends that will drive acquisition opportunities and develop a robust pipeline of deals

  • You will screen potential deals by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, financial implications and internal priorities

  • You will coordinate due diligence reviews of potential candidates and will negotiate and execute each opportunity through close collaboration with internal and external parties

  • You will be responsible for developing integration plans and for tracking and measuring progress post transaction close

 

Requirements:

  • BA/BS degree required; experience in a corporate development capacity within the media or technology industry required

  • 15+ years experience in Corporate Development, Management Consulting, Investment Banking and/or Private Equity

  • A track record of success in structuring complex deals and negotiating with executives and attorneys at companies of various sizes. Prior Corporate Development experience is required

  • Strong quantitative analytical ability, strong strategic thinker with knowledge of online business models and a passion for e-commerce / local commerce

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to develop relationships inside and outside of Groupon in order to cultivate a robust pipeline of deal opportunities

  • Well-organized, entrepreneurial and able to prioritize among multiple projects with limited supervision

  • Able to expertly communicate ideas to internal and external parties
