About the role:

Farmer's Fridge is building a perishable food production and distribution system that no one has ever built before in order to make fresh, nutritious food accessible to everyone. We are looking for an experienced VP of Operations to help us scale.

The VP of Operations will ensure safe and efficient food production, delivery, and Fridge servicing while building a strong team culture centered around collaboration, transparency, and humility.

In a typical week, you will...

• Oversee day-to-day operations across food production, quality/food safety, Fridge deployment and servicing, and logistics/delivery
• Formulate and implement long and short-range plans, policies, and systems to achieve productivity, quality, and cost targets as the business scales
• Build and maintain a strong commitment to quality and safety across all areas of operations
• Develop a flexible organization that can respond quickly to changing customer demands or business needs
• Design efficient organizational structures which provide cross training, growth opportunities, and avenues of succession
• Ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations, including but not limited to OSHA and FDA.
• Develop a culture of continuous improvement, openness, and learning
• Execute growth plans as the business expands nationally

Minimum qualifications:

• 15+ years of Operations experience, a portion of which spent in a leadership role at a rapidly growing business (Ideally $20m - $200m size)
• Experience managing multiple manufacturing sites and professionals
• A degree in engineering, business, and/or operations management, and an MBA or graduate degree in related field
• Worked in a high-growth environment, preferably in the food space
• Experience with managing both an exempt and non-exempt workforce
• The ability to operate in ambiguous situations and be flexible as the organization changes and grows - we are a new place every quarter!
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
