Job Summary
The Web Publishing Administrator supports and executes web content strategy and administration for our internal web channels utilizing our content management systems (CMS). The role works on enterprise-wide content projects and on-going sites updates, ensuring content is organized in a manner consistent with enterprise standards and best practices. The role manages and executes day-to-day digital publishing activities using various content management and email systems. They work in a consultative role with web product owners for our intranet, providing assistance with content strategy, user experience and site analytics. This role works closely with content developers, copywriters and communications managers.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Performs a combination of duties in accordance with departmental guidelines:
- Manages and publishes content on a variety of web properties, including corporate intranet.
- Creates web pages and targeted emails that engage audiences and provide a positive user experience.
- Owns content authoring templates to ensure content web display, performance and measurement best practices are in place.
- Creates and manages content classifications, search descriptions, and metadata with the goal of optimizing all content for search.
- Manages local and remote taxonomies to ensure consistent organization of all content, images and static files.
- Repurposing multimedia content, primarily imagery, to fit the various formats (design templates, thumbnails, banners, etc.)
- Supports review processes to ensure all digital content is written and formatted to meet online editorial, brand, usability, legal and compliance standards.
- Works with developers to solve technical issues in displaying content and systems functionality.
- Works on content migration projects, site planning and creation and on-going site updates and enhancements. This includes pre-assessment, information architecture and build-out, and migrating content while ensuring information is organized in a manner consistent with all guidelines and taxonomy standards.
- Consults with web product owners, makes decisions and offers suggestions on best practices and content strategy.
- Oversees business review, QA testing and publication of online content.
- Creates and maintains documentation for CMS support.
- Stays current on technology, trends and developments.
May perform additional duties as assigned.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
- Excellent knowledge of digital publishing, email automation and design including basic HTML, CSS and Photoshop skills, Marketo, Adobe Creative Suite and Qualtrics; IBM WebSphere experience preferred, but not mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of content management systems and taxonomies.
- Strong digital writing and editing skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively interact with internal and external business partners.
- Solid knowledge in user experience principles.
- Proven ability to be a detail-oriented and self-motivated team player.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in communications, information technology or related discipline preferred but not required.
- Minimum of two years equivalent work experience.
