Our Workplace Coordinator, will report to the Workplace Manager, and will be a meaningful addition to the Workplace team’s function and will have a huge impact on our company culture and workplace productivity. As a member of Upwork's Workplace team, you will strive to craft an unbeatable culture and workplace. You will be responsible for supporting our collaborative and diverse culture of innovation while handling the daily operations of our Chicago office. You’ll be part of a team that ensures all of Upwork's Chicago employees come every single day into a productive and fun workplace.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the day-to-day activities and operations that make our 3 office spaces in Chicago, Santa Clara, and San Francisco extraordinary places to work
  • Handle in office events from start to finish, including meeting coordination, happy hours, cultural celebrations, and more
  • Maintain relations with landlords, vendors (janitorial, security, catering, etc.), and internal partners such as IT and HR
  • Partner with Chicago Workplace Manager to run employee food program
  • Handle changes to the offices such as expansions, renovations, internal office moves, new hire setups
  • Provide administrative support such as maintaining conference room schedules, updating office databases, and streamlining and simplifying processes between offices
  • Order and maintain office supplies
  • Be a culture carrier and have the ability to inspire others to take pride in the workplace
  • Add creativity, fun and a smile to all you touch

What it takes to catch our eye:

  • A minimum of two years of administrative support experience; experience within a tech or startup environment strongly preferred
  • A strong interest in the field of events and catering
  • Friendly and positive demeanor, ‘can do’ attitude and tireless work ethic
