Job Description
We are seeking a forward-thinking, organized, and friendly Workplace Operations Manager to join us. It’s an exciting time for the Workplace team! We are rethinking activities and functions across Reverb and sparking connections while we work from home. Your role will be defined by critical thinking coupled with operational work and will involve collaboration with multiple partner teams.
As Workplace Operations Manager, you will autonomously supervise the day-to-day operations and craft the programs, projects and events that make our offices inspiring places to work. You’ll be a poised and decisive self-starter who uses our values to drive decision-making.
You will juggle multiple simultaneous projects, advocate for the needs of your office, and be willing to roll up your sleeves and pitch in to support our services, programs, and partner teams. Of course, you’ll do all of this while conveying a cheerful, positive, and calming influence on our dynamic workplace.
This is a full-time role based in Chicago and reports to the Director, Workplace & Employee Connections (at Etsy).
In this role you will:
Autonomously lead the operations and maintenance of your office; including establishing and executing systems and processes for facilities operations, inventory, asset tracking, etc
Supervise a Workplace Specialist and oversee contracted staff who support the cleaning, security, and other operational support for the office
Proactively identify areas for operational efficiency, surface issues with a solution-minded approach, and implement impactful changes, many of which will involve partnership and collaboration with cross-functional teams, including Finance, HR, Internal IT, Legal, etc
Build and maintain relationships with senior business leaders and partner with them to articulate future plans and implement global policies and processes
Organize and champion our programming and offerings and contribute your voice to the global strategy for these programs
Collaborate on space planning, office layout, and office expansions or moves as required
Share responsibility for our budget, build and sustain positive relationships with suppliers and vendors, and make purchases informed by our Values

Qualifications
You are a resourceful, adaptable, and confident person who will help make our Chicago office a happy and productive place to work. To be successful in the role, you have:
Proven experience with project and/or office management
A deep, first-hand understanding of the challenges and opportunities of remote work
Proven success with balancing long term projects and daily tasks
A high degree of flexibility in the face of change, an ability to deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment
Strong problem solving and decision-making skills
The ability to be proactive and work autonomously, and also to collaborate with a team
A cheerful disposition, a sense of humor, and capacity to remain calm under pressure
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and a superpower for organization
Experience with Mac products and Google Workplace, bonus points for experience with ZenDesk
Ability to lift 25 lbs and not afraid to tackle the physical aspects of organizing and running an office
