Job Description

With a team of 50+ employees, we are growing and have a great opportunity for a People Operations Manager to join us. This position will report to our Chief Operations Officer and will be a key decision-making team member.

We prioritize our people and our new team member will be a leader in supporting a positive and engaging employee experience for our workforce. With a strong focus on onboarding, workers compensation & people/employee relations, the Manager will develop and implement effective employee retention strategies, ensure compliance with employment laws, and drive initiatives to promote a safe, positive and productive workplace culture. This person will lead a team of Operations & Administrative team members.

This role requires an experienced HR professional who will collaborate with our entire organization and will thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. The right candidate will be innovative and bring to the table new ideas on how we focus on a people first culture, along with being able to drive a high level of work output.

HR/People Operations Leadership

  • Develop and execute HR/People Operations strategies aligned with the company's business goals.

  • Lead a team of People Operation/HR Specialists that support our Employee's Experience from Onboarding to Offboarding.

  • Function as a trusted advisor on all HR-related matters.

  • Lead organizational development initiatives to enhance company performance.

Compliance and Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.

  • Lead Safety initiatives in partnership with Safety Manager, including workers compensation management.

  • Manage employee records and ensure data confidentiality.

  • Hold full responsibility as the Program Manager for our Seasonal H2-B Visa Process by participating in workforce planning, obtaining talent and partnering with our outside consultant.

  • Develop and maintain HR policies, procedures, and documentation to ensure compliance with legal requirements and company standards. Create, manage and implement consistent handbooks across all businesses.

Employee Relations and Retention

  • Participate in the development and management of the onboarding process for new team members, ensuring a positive and seamless experience from offer acceptance through the first month of employment.

  • Foster a positive workplace culture that promotes employee engagement and retention.

  • Address and resolve employee relations issues promptly and effectively.

  • Implement programs to enhance employee satisfaction and retention.

Performance Management

  • Develop and oversee performance management systems that support the growth and development of employees.

  • Provide guidance on setting performance standards and conducting performance reviews.

  • Implement training and development programs to support employee growth.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.

  • Regularly review and update compensation structures to remain competitive.

HR Metrics and Reporting

  • Participate in the selection and implementation of automated HR tools & systems.

  • Develop and track HR metrics to measure the effectiveness of HR programs and initiatives.

  • Provide regular reports to senior management on HR-related metrics and trends.

  • Use data to drive HR strategies and improve organizational performance.



Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field 

  • Previous experience managing/leading HR team members for at least 3 years 

  • 5-7 years of experience in a formalized HR Operations role at an organization

  • Expert level experience with Rippling HRIS system 

  • Prior experience in a ‘start-up/entrepreneurial environment’

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.

  • Extremely technically-savvy and able to quickly pick up new processes and software.

  • Strong understanding of HR processes, regulations, and data privacy laws.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and people skills.
