As a Business Data Steward, you will be responsible for understanding data governance needs, enforcing data management standards and supporting data management initiatives throughout the entire data ecosystem. You will partner with business, technology and data analytics teams on the design through implementation to ensure solutions meet business user stories. Additionally, you will also actively manage and escalate risk and customer-impacting issues within the day-to-day role to management. As a data subject-matter-expert, you must understand both technical and business process context of the data.
How You'll Do It

  • Implements enterprise data efforts and operations, including data lifecycle management, which establishes and enforces how long data is retained.
  • Supports data management initiatives and enforces data management standards, procedures, policies and data classification.
  • Ensures data changes are managed with appropriate impact analysis and communications to potentially impacted areas.
  • Attends Data Steward meetings as a Key stakeholder in Enterprise Data Governance.
  • Participates in the oversight process, ensuring accuracy between multiple reporting systems, which includes loading and reviewing statistical data.
  • Coordinate with upstream and downstream teams utilizing the data and when necessary, identify correct business SMEs to engage in discussions.
  • Executes controls and maintains relevant data/system/business process documentation and policy updates.
  • Partners with the technology and analytics teams to complete business initiatives.
  • Bridges the gap between business and analytics environments and enriches data in the analytics environment with business process definition.
  • Reports progress and statuses to management. Oversees timely support and resolution as needed.


Qualifications You'll Need
The Basics

  • Bachelor's degree in Analytics, Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics, Statistics or related
  • 8+ years of experience in Data management and solutions in a business role, or related field
  • In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, 10+ years of:
    • Solid understanding of Data Management concepts including metadata management, Data Quality, Data governance, and Data Modeling.
    • Experience gathering data requirements and performing complex data analysis is required.
    • Experience driving adoption of data capabilities across technology groups and enabling data literacy required.
    • Ability to engage effectively with technical and analytics partners, understand business data requirements and translate to actionable solutions is key.


Bonus Points If You Have

  • 10+ years of Information management and data analysis experience
  • Experience gathering data user stories
  • Agile/Scrum proficiency
  • Experience in marketing analytics for financial products and services, and digital platforms

Compensation:
The base pay for this position generally ranges between $88,500.00 to $149,300.00. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package. Factors, such as but not limited to, geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may impact the pay for this position.
