Job Description

Are you interested in being a part of a fast growing, agile category management team that brings new smart, connected products to market? Moen’s Connected Smart Water team has new openings for a Group Product Manager based at our Global headquarters in Deerfield, Il. 

The Group Product Manager will be instrumental in leading and executing product management for a portfolio of solutions within our Connected Products Business, part of the Moen Smart Water Network. The Group Product Manager leads a team of connected product managers.  The Group Product Manager drives category growth through portfolio execution and defines the strategic vision for their team driven by the overall Moen Smart Water business vision. They have a deep understanding of the target market/industry/user and build close relationships with key stakeholders to ensure that business priorities are aligned with overall strategy. This role manages dependencies with other team’s functions while identifying, building and managing strategic partnership across the different teams. They work closely with commercial functions, project, engineering development and supply chain teams to ensure business value is maximized. Group Product Managers will be accountable for their category revenue growth, product portfolio optimization and portfolio growth strategy, and for specific business OKRs based on their product portfolio needs.

 

POSITION LOCATION:
This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule with work performed in Deerfield, Illinois (onsite Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays).

RESPONSIBLIITIES:
Product/Category Strategy & Leadership

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive product and category strategy to drive sales growth, market share and profitability.  
  • Identify market trends, competitive threats, and consumer needs to inform portfolio roadmap and go-to-market strategies.
  • Establish clear KPIs and performance metrics to track category success.
  • Partner with Software Product Leadership to drive platform level software prioritization.  

Product & Portfolio Management

  • Lead & own the product portfolio strategy and lifecycle for assigned connected product portfolio.
  • Develop and execute a 3-year portfolio roadmap plan through conducting ongoing competitive, market, and Voice of Customer (VOC) analysis to deliver best in class solutions.
  • Partner with cross-functional product development (hardware & software) teams to define new product introductions and provide regular updates to business leadership.
  • Lead product management team as they define requirements and features to multiple teams (hardware & software) to deliver on value proposition, unique selling proposition, price, margin and supply for new product development.

Go-to-Market Execution

  • Define market segment priorities and partner with Sales & Channel Marketing to establish go-to-market strategies and plans to achieve business objectives.
  • Lead portfolio and pricing strategy for assigned product portfolio driving revenue and margin contribution to achieve business objectives.
  • Develop compelling product messaging and promotional strategies that resonate with target consumers.

Data-Driven Decision Making

  • Leverage data analytics, market research, and consumer insights to inform category strategy
  • Monitor category performance, pricing trends, and competitive benchmarks to make proactive adjustments.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Influence senior leadership by providing strategic recommendations based on category insights.
  • Build strong relationships with external partners, channel partners, and technology partners.  

 

Qualifications

  • 8-10+ years of experience in product management or product ownership within a consumer electronics, IoT, smart home, consumer durable goods or connected products company.  Should demonstrate a deep knowledge and passion for how customers work and think.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, a related field, or equivalent experience required.  MBA preferred.
  • Proven ability to drive product portfolio and category growth through data-driven insights and innovative strategies.
  • Solid knowledge of industry trends pain points to be able to create a high value product vision and user demands.
  • Strong communication skills with ability to communicate complex messages and trade-offs and tell a compelling story an all levels of the organization.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and passion to challenge status quo to find new solutions and drive out of the box ideas – loves and embraces change.
  • Able to build a sense of trust and rapport that creates a comfortable & effective workplace.
  • Brings a high-energy and passionate outlook to the job and can influence those around them.
  • Strong analytical skills, including ability to arrive at insights from analytical data, is essential for market and competitive evaluation, pricing and line management.
  • Demonstrated ability to be a team player with skills to lead/participate in cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to travel approximately 15%, mainly to trade shows & customer locations.

Additional Information

Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is Hiring Pay Range: $120,000 USD - $192,500 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based sales incentive plan.
