The Business Analyst works in an Agile Scrum team that develops, maintains, and supports automation applications servicing the healthcare and benefits programs. The BA focus is on defining, analyzing, and documenting requirements for product initiatives. The BA collaborates with Product Managers to establish product release vision, and then translates the gathered requirements into clear user stories that explain the goals of the story/feature(s) to the development team. The BA manages requirements at the project level to help fulfill business needs.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality software products on time to market, in alignment with strategic goals while meeting the needs of our clients.
- Communicate release level business needs to teams and stakeholders; set appropriate acceptance criteria to meet business needs for minimum viable product.
- Work with clients and stakeholders to gather business needs and elicit, translate, and simplify into user stories.
- Plan, monitor, and analyze the requirements throughout the roadmap and release planning, ensuring development teams can be continually fed.
- Work with peer Business Analysts & Product Managers regarding cross-team dependencies; remain consistently mindful of improving portfolio interests, not just product interests.
- Support a continuous feedback loop from Customer to Product Manager to Product Owner & scrum team.
- Work with Product Management to build business cases when needed.
- Build and maintain storyboards for utilization in communication to various internal and external stakeholders.
- Take the hand-off of requirements building throughout the year as an iterative process, documenting in the product management and development management systems throughout.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in Information Science or other relevant business-related discipline.
- 1-3 years of experience as a Business Analyst or similar role.
- Understanding of systems engineering concepts.
- Experience gathering requirements and creating user stories in an agile environment.
- Experience conducting cost/benefit analyses.
- Experience with business case development and modeling techniques and methods.
- Experience in SaaS or consumer websites/apps preferred, but not required.
