As the eCommerce Technical Product Owner, you are a key member of Motorola Solutions’ Digital Transformation IT team for the implementation of a global cloud based eCommerce platform. You collaborate with development teams to produce technically focused user stories to ensure accuracy and feasibility. You ensure that business user stories, and features, are refined and decomposed containing technical details to be solutioned by developers. You are part of a talented team of developers and understand required business outcomes.
Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations
Lead and provide technical solutions that can be configured in our digital platform, and provide outside in thinking to propose alternative solutions where a fit in the existing solution is not optimal.
Decomposing user stories and drive technical conversations.
Collaborate with architects to advance product features/development.
Understand and advocate best practices in high-level system designs.
Lead and drive functional and technical design requirements for development and provide overall platform domain expertise.
Lead solution design sessions with business partners, system integration suppliers, and other IT teams, translating requirements/business rules into detailed technical specifications.
Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives
Perform the role of a Technical Product Owner, within an Agile framework, enabling Scrum teams in delivering value.
Experience with designing and implementing functionality on web applications such as Oracle Commerce Cloud (OCC), Oracle ATG or similar industry leading eCommerce platform is required.
Proven track in leading website & eCommerce application design and/or development.
Experience with three or more eCommerce concepts such as personalization, shopping carts, customer service, subscription management, payment gateways, credit checking, content creation and management; and general search concepts such as guided search, search interfaces, and relevancy ranking is required.
Ability to create technical documentation, requirements, designs, and user story for overall business solution.
Ability to communicate ideas to technical teams and business partners.
Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
Deep understanding of the eCommerce market and the competitive landscape for ecommerce solutions.
Experience in Agile Scrum or SAFe framework. Product owner, or equivalent, certifications with leading organizations (e.g., ScrumAlliance, SAFe, etc.) are preferred but not required.
Familiar with API design & implementation, microservices architecture, and cloud computing platforms (e.g, AWS, Azure, etc.)
Domain knowledge of all facets of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), with particular emphasis on change management, source code management, and validation/testing.
Bachelor or Masters degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or Business from an accredited university.
5+ years of experience in a role as a Technical Product Owner, Business Systems Analyst or Developer.
